We had a very nice culinair expierence ten years ago in this michelinrecommended restaurant. So, now after 10 years we expected the same, and choose the most expensive menu (44,00) The taste was very ordinary, nothing special at all, the service didn't made it better. What a pity.., maybe the owners looked too much after the taste of their international... More

We stayed here two nights and were treated very well. Rooms are quiet in a separate building across the road from the restaurant. There is a very adequate swimming pool in the garden. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful (not to mention hard-working). Dinner was served in lovely secluded garden area. My only complaints are that the food was... More

The Hotel and Auberge are run by the same couple. The Hotel (as pictured) provides the accommodation and breakfast. The Auberge (directly opposite on a quiet road) provides the evening meals which past contributors have correctly identified as being of excellent quality with a good price range. Ask for a room at the hotel overlooking the gardens (beautifully laid out... More

Can't comment on the hotel but the restaurant was excellent. I was taken by good friends who knew and loved the place. The menus offered a good range of local produce as well as choices such as scallops, service was pleasant without being obtrusive and we enjoyed a fine bottle of Ruilly after glasses of Cremant. Best of all was... More

We spent a night here while cycling through Burgundy. The pool was a very welcome sight after a day on the bike? The room was clean and comfortable, nothing outstanding but not simply mediocre either. Free wifi is provided so it is easy to stay in touch while there. The restaurant is across the street from the inn. Our dinner... More

this is one of those little hidden gems of a restaurant in which France still specialises . It's important to avoid confusion with the closed Hotel du cheval blanc which is opposite and which is the incorrect subject of the picture here. The auberge is a 'Logis de france' . Under new management it is beautifully decorated and quite charming... More

My wife and I were staying in a small gite a few km up the road in St Vallerin, and so we can't comment on Cheval Blanc as a hotel, but we quickly became regulars at the restaurant and really enjoyed our several visits for lunch and dinner. It is a family-owned and -operated place that draws a brisk lunchtime... More

We had been taken to this hotel by friends who had used it for nearly 25 years. We arrived and the owners had left. New management were friendly but the dinner was nothing special, service was slow, not just for us but other diners. Breakfast was the saving grace. We had a small double room at the front which was... More

We visited the Cheval Blanc for the 4th time in 5 years, this time we stayed for 3 nights with friends. As always, the welcome is warm and genuine, the food and wine superb and great value. Dinner under the trees at the back of the restaurant was a delight, and breakfast overlooking the garden with local honey and different... More

Stayed here for a couple of nights whilst touring southern Burgundy: it was the rural France we'd hoped to discover! Although the hotel itself fronts onto a main road, we had a room at the back, which overlooked the garden and pool, with views right to the nearby hills. The building is beautiful, although rooms are probably best described as... More
