A delightfully situated hôtel in an old water mill on the outskirts of a small town: there are attractive gardens, soothing sounds from the water, and a warm welcome from the owners. The bedrooms are modern, comfortable and well appointed. The dining-room has much character, betokening the building's history; and in fine weather al fresco eating, overlooking the old water-wheels... More

We looked for a hotel between champagne and chablis, and found this to be a match, looked good on the webpage, but went there on chance to get a room. The whole building is a old mill with streaming water around it, big garden and a porch. The room was very spacious and carefully designed. quiet area on the edge... More

We stayed at the Moulin on a trip to see a friend . bit tricky to find but lovely setting when we arrived . poor access from car park to hotel ( We parked at the back) but pleasant welcome and room at the top bit small but good bed and great shower. main attraction is the restaurant where the... Second times in l'Auberge des Vieux Moulins Banaux. The cooker is very creative and all the suggestions are so delightfull ! I especially love fishes (rouget a Lotte). Rooms are beautiful and quiet with a lot of Equipments for a 3 stars (coffe, tea, watter, teethbrush, ...). I also had a familly meeting during a week end (20 persons) and... More

We first stayed here about 10 years ago for an overnight stop. The whole set up was superb although the rooms had not been refurbished but were quite ok. The staff were very welcoming, the restaurant stunning, the food excellent and the beautiful grounds well kept. This time wasn't such a positive experience in some ways which may be due... More

The exterior of this hotel is delightful but that's about where it ends. Admittedly we did arrive just as dinner service was starting so maybe they were short staffed and that was the reason our reception was not over effusive. The carpet up to our room - on the top floor - needs to go in the skip. The room... More

I stopped "by accident" in l'Auberge des Vieux Moulins. I was driving back from Paris later than planned, and I was looking for a place to stay about 1h outside Paris. After getting a couple of negative replies from fully booked Ibis/Formula 1 hotel around the Melun area, I found this Auberge on Booking.com and booked online. I showed up... More

Were this a review of just a restaurant my ratings would be better. The main thing that would make the restaurant ratings even higher would be more help explaining the menu in English. But the Oeufs en Meurette were superb, and, apart from one unfortunate menu choice, the meal was excellent - tasty, well presented, well served. The initial impression... More

The location is wonderful and the site is worse a long drive! Food is very good. Quiet atmosphere, very charming dining room. The old mill is one of the rare in the region and worse the visit. The small Town of Villeneuve L'Archeveque is also worse the visit. Do not miss the "Cathedral' and the very nice trails along the... More
