We choosed this hotel because we would like to experient and enjoy the time machine which brought us back to the middle age. The location is excellent, right on the square and the busy streets. Lobby is very beautiful and reserved all the old wall painting which is deserve to look around. However the room is very small, nearly have... More

Ribe is the oldest city in Denmark. It dates back to a viking settlement in 700 AD. So, it was only natural that we stay in one of the oldest hotels; Hotel Dagmar. But the old building comes with some problems. First, we never saw an elevator. This would be a problem for anyone unable to navigate narrow stairs. Second,... More

We chose this hotel for its location (great - right in the center of town) and expected it to be "twee" and were not surprised. But ... out room (family room no. 200) was very dusty, very tiny and very warm. Yes you can open the window, but if you are there in the weekend, it is extremely noisy right... More

I had booked two nights at Hotel Dagmar in Denmark's oldest borough. It had suppose to be the best in town but when I arrived before 8 PM the reception was closed and I had to find my key among other keys myself. When I found the room I was surprised about the filthy looking floor and the dirty room... More

The hotel is nice, located ON the square of the main church. Floors are "interestingly" uneven. Overall a nice stay, but the rooms could do with an upgrade. Carpets on the floor were dirty, and the bathroom had seen better days. Breakfast was boring and nothing special, but fresh.

I booked in for a business trip, the hotel is very old with sloppy floors etc which all add to the charm. The rooms are comfortable and the bathroom nice with a walk in shower. The breakfast was traditional Danish which made a welcome change and the choice fantastic. Only down side was no telephone in the room and i... More

A strange mixture of superb hotel and food, hoax and cold red wine. When I phoned to make a reservation, I was asked to pay an extra kr. 200,- if I wanted a room with a view of the town square. The room was really nice, but the view wasn't (some roofs and a backyard. No square). When I complained,... More

Good old style hotel that has soul. Lovely welcoming staff who are helpful and kind. Clean rooms and tidy public areas. The charm of the building is the creaking and sloping floors. The bathroom was small however ok for the solo traveller. Breakfast was particularly good lots of selection and all lovely. Best bit is how close this hotel is... More

As long as you understand that Ribe focuses on the tourist dollar, you won't be disappointed. Hotel Dagmar is fabulously ancient, the floors really do slant all over the place, the creaks and groans of the building part of its charm. The church is right in front of the hotel, and offers a great example of the way a building's... More

Very difficult for anyone with mobility problems: floors slant badly, ancient bathtub impossible to climb into and very steep stairs with inadequate handrails. The staff however was very helpful and accommodating.
