The 350 years old house made us feel like stay at our own home in The Patan Kingdom. The atmosphere is very excellent. Everybody are very friendly and full with service mind. We will stay here whenever we visit Kathmandu Valley.

This B&B is absolutely charming. As others have said, the doorways are low and some of the staircases are narrow and steep. However, this all adds to the feeling that you are staying in a dwelling built hundreds of years ago - which you are. You do have to sit on the floor which at first seems quaint, but then... More

We spent a few nights at Newa Chen on the tail ends of a trek and loved it. The staff are very accommodating and kind and the hotel is lovely and clean. Breakfast was outstanding every morning and we loved having a quiet retreat in Patan. The hotel is a short walk to Patan's Dubar Square, which we preferred to... More

Our family loved our stay at Newa Chen. The hotel is a full of charm. We loved our rooms and the architecture of the old traditional house. We also loved Patan and we are so glad we stayed there instead of chaotic Kathmandu. We enjoyed walking through the surrounding streets and seeing the many interesting sights, shops, etc. The hotel... More

stay 2 nite at patan and newa chen is the best choice. The location very near with durbar square. When I arrived at the evening, they show the room and served welcome drink in the room with some fruit. The bfast is very nice, always change everyday. The architecture was great, I was feel like queen in my penthouse.

Newa Chen was such a wonderful break from the concrete block hotels of Kathmandu! I was traveling for my second time in Nepal after 40 years, trying to show my daughter what it had been like -- this was it! The best of traditional architecture renovated with the comforts of a 4 star hotel. The room we had included a... More

Beautiful hotel. Simple living with great and heart of gold staff. Convenient location to the old Kathmandu. A stones throw away to Durbar Square. Quant and lovely courtyard. More than just a hotel. Its home away from home.

This was a great place in a great location with some of the nicest staff your ever going to meet. Felt part of old Kathmandu staying here. The building is a beautiful old timber frame and has most of the original features still in tact. Lovely little court yard in middle. Short walk to Durbar Sq (2 seconds)

Wonderful stay (two separate times) at Newa Chen this past February. They staff are some of the nicest, most accommodating people I truly have ever met, not just at a hotel. They were so friendly our entire stay, and made the effort to have a conversation with you. My 6 foot 3 inch boyfriend had a little issue walking around... More

We loved this hotel. The Newari architecture gave it a wonderful atmosphere and the service was outstanding. The breakfast was generous and in a lovely traditional style room which made it a great experience. Convenient location to the Durbar. Can be a little noisy as it is near the temples and the bell rings when there are prayers but this... More
