I spent almost a month and a half in this hotel, which became my home in Kathmandu, where I received an excellent service from all the staff. The food was quite good and diverse. The only problem is that you have to make reservations well in advance, since it is almost 100% booked most of the time. It is centrally... More

Virtually everything here is at or above the quality a western tourist would expect. Wifi is a bit expensive, but fast. The restaurant is outstanding. Maids, desk workers, bellhops...everyone does their job with excellence 24/7 room service, good laundry service...it's all here.

Just had a stay for 10 days for business & pleasure. My first time in Nepal. A previous reviewer marked it down for being out of tourist hub - which is true because it is not in Thamel or similar but if you turn LEFT out of the hotel it is a 10 minute walk to Patan Dhokar (the gate... More

Located in Patan so away from shopping. While hotel does not get noise from road if you wish to go for a walk need to go right next to it. Rooms are very good but only filtered water and must pay for wifi which is ridicules considering its cost per night. Dinner reasonable in price but really it's the only... More

a wonderful place to go when in Kathmandu/Patan - when you walk thru the doors into a beautiful lobby - and outside to the patio around the pool .. food is delish,,,esp that sizzler chicken - have been there often and never dissapointed - children are well received and enjoy the lush gardens - pretty vista - also should mention... My wife and I greatly enjoyed our stay at the Himalaya. Our room (right at the end of the corridor) was good and had excellent views over the very pleasant gardens including the temple. A fine restaurant, they organise everything for one seminar which went well, and the Customer Relations team were first-class. Very much recommended.

When we first arrived at the Himalaya, we were a bit concerned as the lobby has a very late 1970's feel about it, However, the hotel far exceeded our expectations. The rooms are very comfortable and the bathrooms have been renovated, the linens are great and most of all the people are super friendly and helpful. The food is good,... More

Comfortable and clean. But why, why, why, in a hotel of this standard, is there no free wifi? I could just about spend what wifi costs here for a bed, breakfast and internet elsewhere. Stupid, out of date policy.

I have stayed a few times in Hotel Himalaya while on business trips to Kathmandu. The best part is the garden ....but apart from that the rooms are a bit tired and aren't terribly clean, staff seem a bit disinterested and not very accommodating. It feels like a government run establishment with no one trying very hard. I guess a... More

I haven't been here on vacation so I cannot speak otherwise, but the rooms were fairly decent, I was in Nepal for around 10 days for a conference. The food gets a little repetitive but the staff are accommodating and the rooms fairly spacious even for a bit of yoga :)
