Comfortable and clean. But why, why, why, in a hotel of this standard, is there no free wifi? I could just about spend what wifi costs here for a bed, breakfast and internet elsewhere. Stupid, out of date policy.

I have stayed a few times in Hotel Himalaya while on business trips to Kathmandu. The best part is the garden ....but apart from that the rooms are a bit tired and aren't terribly clean, staff seem a bit disinterested and not very accommodating. It feels like a government run establishment with no one trying very hard. I guess a... More

I haven't been here on vacation so I cannot speak otherwise, but the rooms were fairly decent, I was in Nepal for around 10 days for a conference. The food gets a little repetitive but the staff are accommodating and the rooms fairly spacious even for a bit of yoga :)

My wife and I travel to Nepal twice every year for the past 5 years and we have stayed at this hotel much of the time. The best asset is its location. It is set back from the road and has great views of the mountains when the weather is clear - which not too often. Rooms are ok and... More

I stayed in this hotel last week. The room facilities were not good, since the electricity up and down and the air conditioning did not work properly. The room is getting warm and it made me uncomfortable since the weather is very hot and humid. The food during breakfast was no variety and you will eat the same menu every... More

This hotel is rather old-fashioned and beginning to show its age somewhat. That said, it offers good standard of rooms, food, etc. I found the staff very helpful and pleasant, although one felt that some were maybe just going through the motions in customer-care (the daytime barman was one example). It is not a cheap hotel but surely that is... More

I wasn't staying at this hotel but had meetings and dinner here. This is a very nice quality hotel set in the midst of "third-worldom". My friend was staying here and so I saw her room. Spacious with huge windows and a day bed. Bathroom was large and airy. I ate 3 nights in a row and found the buffet... More

This Hotel is good compared to the average Hotel in Nepal. Rooms are clean and quite modernly furnished. The Hotel itself (common areas) look a bit old fashioned and dirty though. Breakfast was average as some food didn't look very appealing to eat. Anyways, they had toasts, sausages, juice, cereals and croissants among other stuff so we couldn't complain. We... More

Well the first 2 days at this hotel were really good as we got what we were promised; a wonderful room on the 5th floor, brilliant view, spacious and clean. The buffet was excellent; did not offer much of an Indian/Nepali fare but we managed. The staff too was cooperative albeit a tad more well behaved/courteous and attentive towards foreigners;... More

We don't really have any complaints on the hotel. It's not expensive. We were there during the (cold) winter and heater is fine. It's big, food is ok, service is good, but... it looks kind os dusty. Though, ALL Nepal looks kind of dusty. In this hotel, everything is just like in the rest of the country: housekeeping knocks on... More
