I would highly recommend Hira to anyone staying in Patan. Some of the pros are: great location, spacious clean room, nice rooftop view, and very helpful staff. The one con: very low ceilings! I didn't personally have any problems with the low ceilings, but my husband who is 6 ft tall, had to hunch over most of the time to... More

I chose the Hira guest house for the atmosphere of its old rooms and building, the helpfulness and kindness of the staff, the sight from the roof top terrasse over the Golden Temple surrounded by "normal" houses and the families living there and the hot water available all day - and would do so again. I felt very much at... More

The guest house is located right at the center of Patan (Lalitpur). Just 5mins walk to Patan durbar square, and there are shops and restaurants close by! The building itself not to mention is just a beauty! it is a 200 years old building that you can smell the history once you got into the building; they keep the brick... More

This is an old Newari house in the middle of Patan. The rooms are spacious but very dark (and cold) and only for very small people. Even with my only 1,65 height it was challenging not to hit the head everytime. The staff wasn't welcoming at all, was totally disappointed, cause due to the reviews I expected something completely different.... More

Even if it is above my usual budget I spent a night at Hira Guest House. It's a old Newar house renewed so the feel is really great. The staff is very friendly and helpful (as a backpacker I'm not used to being helped carrying my lugage). Rooftop terrace is wonderful with views to the Golden Temple just a few... More

Comfortable and clean rooms, beautiful roof terrace just next to the Golden Temple. 200 year old building has very low ceilings and beams, a knock on the head is most common for anyone taller than 1.7m. Very good experience, but disappointed with the transportation arrangement as we were informed of price changes only at the very last minute.

If you are after staying in a historic place full of character and history, this is it. We stayed for 2 nights, our first stop in Nepal. What a start. The staff are all friendly and can't do enough for you. Let them direct you to the good restaurants. Then the room, with low ceilings, rich wood work and history. The... More

This is a fine 200-year-old house, with friendly staff, and the rooms are spacious and have been nicely renovated, but after spending close to two weeks in Nepal, looking back this place was definitely overpriced. Breakfast was tasty enough, but a bit poor when considering the overall price. Even with earplugs I found the combination of outside street noise +... More

Lovely guest house at a fantastic location. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The ropftop is a wonderful place where you can enjoy tea or drinks in the evenings or your breakfast in the mornings. One can even listen prayers and chanys from the next doot Golden Temple. What a great place. Loved it.
