I was living in this guesthouse for more than two months. I would recommend the place to everyone who is looking for a longer stay in Kathmandu. Thamel is a great location for backpackers, but after a few days, the crowd of tourists and seller becomes very annoying. Patan is in the south of Kathmandu and most expats are staying... More

Hmm.. I was not really happy with the stay. The rooms were so hot you could not sleep at night, and there was not hot water. I stayed at the top room, it was awful. The location however is nice, but I will not recommend it at all. There are other places i would rather stay than dev.. Simply not... More

If one is looking for a tranquil, high-quality stay in Kathmandu, I humbly and whole-heartedly suggest Dev Guest House. Attached bathrooms, multiple kitchens, laundry service (included in price) very nice family/staff and included breakfast. The Thamel (tourist) area can become quite over-whelming after a night or two, so if you are staying in Kathmandu for longer than that you may... More

I have been at Dev Guesthouse for almost a month now and I couldn't recommend it highly enough. The owners Rajindre and Ruth are great! Ruth always prepares something different for breakfast and they really do all they can to make you feel at home. I especially love her Swiss bircher muesli with chocolate...yum! It's location is out of the... More

I am a swiss student and spent two and a half months in summer 2013 living in Dev Guesthouse, only 5 minutes from the organization I was doing an internship for. Dev Guesthouse is very close to many NGOs, international organizations, etc. However, that is by far not the only reason to stay there, it is also a great place... More

We have stayed in Dev Guest House for two months in June and July 2013 and it really became a home away from home during the time. The place is located in the Southern part of the city, Patan, which is less crowded. Dev Guest House is definitely a convenient location if you are staying in Nepal for most NGO-related... More

Dev is in Lalitpur, a short bus or taxi ride from Thamel and a quick walk from Patan Durbar Square. It's on one of the backstreets and it's well worth searching out (there are signs). It's very clean and comfortable, the area is relatively quiet for Kathmandu with plenty of cafes and restaurants serving western and Nepali food (including Cafe... More

Me and my friend went to Nepal to do an internship for nine weeks. We stayed in Thamel for the first two nights but could not manage to stay another night in that busy tourist area. We found Dev guest house by chance as we were walking in Jamsikhel which is a quiet area with a lot of embassies. There... More
