La Posada is an incredible find - if you are going to The Petrified Forest or the Painted Desert or if you just want a fun place to stay outside of Flagstaff this is a must. An old hacienda style building, La Posada dates from the 30's when rail travel was in its hey day. Currently being renovated, the common... more

This was a pleasant and relaxing oasis on old Route 66. When you drive into Winslow off 40 you just don't expect to see this type of pleasant oasis. I found the whole town charming. I could just imagine it when old Route 66 was booming. The hotel was absolutely terrific from their customer service to the historic and artistic... more

We had visited this hotel about a year ago and decided to stay on our way to Santa Fe. This is a treasure with a wonderfully restored building that the owners had saved from destruction. It captures the history of the West and is a pleasure to stay in. The owners wife is a modern artist so the hotel has... more

We flew in our Cessna to the historic Lindberg Airport, had lunch at the outstanding mexican restaurant on the runway, walked to the hotel (Cabs are available.) and began the most charming and relaxing weekend we've had in years. Our check-in was completed by a friendly man with a brilliant sense of humor. Our room was spotless and comfortable, in southwest... more

We just happened upon La Posada by luck. We were in a souvenir shop in Winslow, standing on the corner, and asked the sales lady where we could get lunch. She suggested the Turquoise Room in this hotel. We were on a side trip from Sedona but had a wonderful lunch and were so smitten with this little gem, we... more

Winslow AZ, is a sleepy city, that has seen better times. However the owners of La Posada are helping to change that. The hotel is a Mary Colter design (she did many of the Grand Canyon bldgs) and has quite a history (www.laposada.org). We stayed there for one night and totally enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere. When you enter the hotel,... more

My wife, dog and I just had a wonderful overnight at this hotel on the way to Grand Canyon. To say it exceeded all our expectations is an understatement. Stayed there originally because it allowed our dog, as many high end establishments are doing throughout the country. But never expected such a delightful experience. We tried to stay there coming... more

We spent the night and enjoyed walking around and viewing the art work and the building itself. Watched Amtrak stop and let someone off. Couldn't believe how quiet it was when the trains went by.A little pricy but, an interesting experience. Would be nice to have more time to just sit on the veranda and watch the trains go by.... more

in the Southwestern desert. This is a lush and restful place to spend a few days. The hotel was a Harvey House when Winslow was a booming railroad town, and any traveler would feel welcomed by the beautifully decorated public spaces, the green and shaded outside areas, and the large guest rooms. Each room is named after one of the... more

The hotel itself has been described accurately by others. But I would add that this is a truly relaxing experience. Just to sit on the veranda and watch the trains is worth the visit. By the way, the trains do not make much noise, and although this is Arizona, it is cool and refreshing in Winslow. The restaurant is five... more
