We just got back from staying 3 nights at the La Posada. We visit friends in town and enjoy staying at the LP. Staff was very friendly. The room was clean. The bed was a little soft but not bad. The restaurant was exceptional. We had breakfast and dinner. Probably the best prime rib I've ever had. We will be... More

I've read about The La Posada in AZ Highways and other travel books and always wondered what made it so special. I arranged a trip for my NJ cousin while visiting and thought it would be a great hotel to experience. I was impressed and so were they. The rooms are eclectic with home made furniture bought from The La... More

A surprising, eclectic find in non-descript Winslow,Az. Nicest hotel nearest to Petrified Forest And Painted Desert. The owners have restored most of the hotel with love and some understated funk making it both charming and interesting with an eclectic array of art work and a trading post with many beautiful southwest finds of a high quality. Rooms do not have... More

Winslow is hardly on the list of must-see spots, but if you're in the vicinity, La Posada is a hidden gem. A former Fred Harvey hotel on the Santa Fe line, it was purchased privately and beautifully restored with one-of-a-kind pieces, some locally crafted and many items donated back. Designed by Mary Jane Colter (also famous for her Grand Canyon... More

This property is really something unique on a number of levels: its history as a Mary Colter designed and built hotel from around 1930; its history of cultural change leading to neglect and decay, along with the rest of Route 66; its history of renovation and rebirth thanks to the vision, funds and tireless work of its current owners/supporters. It's... More

A gorgeous restored Harvey House, comfortable rooms and lovely decor (a fully-stocked bookshelf in our room!). The restaurant had a delicious breakfast and I spent about two hours wandering the building and grounds, exploring the beautiful furnishings and the history.

This renovated railway station back into a hotel is a work in progress. A lot has been done to make this a very nice hotel. The rooms are furnished and decorated as much as possible in original period furnishing. The self guided tour around the hotel was interesting. Our room had a king bed, jacuzzi tub and ample seating area.... More

This hotel has a lot of history and character. In a way I was disappointed, as from the descriptions I had envisioned something like the great Canadian railway hotels--it is not on that scale--but the architecture is interesting and the rooms are nice. It is adjacent to the train yard--if you are a light sleeper you may be disturbed by... More

My husband and I have been staying at LaPosada many times a year over the past 5 years. We have always had a wonderful stay. There are many common areas to spend time in and to converse with other travelers. So relaxing and nostalgic. The trains that pass by are a bonus.

A renovated Fred Harvey Hotel in Winslow Arizona, this historical property has been lovingly renovated, surrounded by beautiful gardens, relaxing spaces for conversation and reflection, and whimsical, thought provoking art. (One of the owners is an artist of significant renown). Our room was small, but full of whimsical furniture, Navajo rugs, and interesting photographs and other art. And the Turquoise... More
