We're so used to staying at your usual big name hotels, so this was a little different for us. It was late night when we arrived and it was a little weird driving through some of the area and there were some run down or old buildings. I also noticed train tracks behind the hotel and I was like, "oh... More

My husband & I had the great fortune of experiencing La Posada over an extended trip out west in January '15. Being from Virginia, we just learned of it last year. It truly must be experienced to really understand. I will try my best to make it a "Bucket List" destination for everyone I love. La Posada is probably Mary... More

This "Railroad Hotel" has so many surprises. Art, sculptures, fireplaces in sitting rooms, a library, and so on. The rooms are quite good, and the beds are as well. You will not be disappointed in the 'class' of this hotel. The hotel restaurant is second to none.

My wife and I have stayed in La Posada three times. It has been a must stop on drives across Arizona on I-40. Alan Affeldt and Tina Mion have saved this notable Harvey hotel and continue to restore it in ways expressive of Mary Colter's original designs, but also building on her vision and interest in regional art. Each time... More

Originally built in 1930 this hotel was nearly torn down when the interstates bypassed Route 66. Thank goodness it wasn't. It caters for through traffic on the 66 Tours and does it well. Lovely oldie worldie rooms and I could just go on and on....See it for yourself. Oh, sit outside and count the trains that go past. Up to... More

We've been stopping here since the restoration began. First, for lunch since the restaurant was finished early on in the process & now, every time we're driving through AZ. I've taken 5 friends for an over nighter and we all loved it. Everyone enjoyed cocktails, dinner & breakfast. The rooms are well designed with comfortable bedding. The rooms along the... More

Who would have thought that stopping for the night in Winslow, Arizona, could be anything more than a room and bed for a weary traveler? My husband and I had read with interest the history of the la Posada Hotel in Winslow and decided to give it a try. What a treat! Not only does history abound there, but the... More

First off I want to let you know the staff was great to include the waitress in the dining room. They were all polite, helpful and worked any issue promptly. Now the tough love - we initially were in a large room on the first floor that backed to the garden. The room was fine and it was on the... More

beautiful place and too much to take in on just one nights stay. Our room was quite spacious and the bathroom and tiny dressing area were very quirky. The trains run very close by , but didn't affect our sleeping even though you were aware of them. There is tea/coffee/hot chocolate available to help yourself in the reception area....and apples.... We kind of stumbled on this place, and what a find! We got on the waiting list for a night over the Christmas holidays and sure enough, got a call and got a room on the way back from California to Colorado. The weather was freezing cold and grey, and we had been in the car all day. This large,... More
