El Rancho is an older, 1950s style motel, so don't expect fancy. I was surprised there were microwave ovens, refrigerators, coffee makers, and VCR or DVD players in the rooms. They had just switched over to DirecTV or something like that, so using the TV remote for anything more than sound and turning it on was obsolete. I had to... more

Stayed only one night there but beds infested with bedbugs... Spend all night scratching myself and it spoilt the rest of my 3 weeks trip...Enormous spots appeared which ached days and nights. I couldn't swim, or be arm naked... Imagine what it's like in death valley with long sleeves T shirt in August ...The owner refunded the price of the... more

What can be worst! Stinky tiny room with dirty ugly bed covers. Bath tab is old and doesn't drain, all moldy. We stayed at Vegas in a delux room with marble and etc...for $20 a night! And this dump hole is $50 a nigh...not even close! There is no even place to put your bags! You can take your skin... more

We stayed for two nights in Sept, 2008. We stayed here on the recommendation of tripadvisor reviews. Now when I read the other reviews I wonder if we had stayed in the same hotel. OK ,the owner and the cleaner were friendly but that's all I could say that was positive about this hotel other than the rooms come with... more

Our stay at El Rancho was quite pleasant. If you are expecting anything fancy, of course you will be disappointed, but for the money this is a fine place to stay. A few things we liked- the lady at the desk was very helpful in booking our Grand Canyon railway trip ahead of time with everything in order when we... more

Stayed at the El Rancho for four nights. Clean and comfortable with genuine hospitality and Route 66 ambience. Not fancy, but certainly reminiscent of a slower-paced, less harried time. Good value for those who do not require all the modern-day extras. Will stay there again for sure. more

We stayed for 3 nights during an 18 day trip in September 2006. The motel is on the edge of the town, but you can walk to all the amenities. The receptionist (Maureen) was very welcoming and pleasant. She booked flights over the canyon and the trip on the Grand Canyon Railway for us. The rooms are a little dated,... more

We stayed here at the end of July on a vacation through AZ. The owner is extrememly nice and friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable but certainly no frills (although they did have a cofeemaker and microwave). The small outdoor pool was clean but very cold (heated - but very cold). Great value for the money - right at the... more
