We chose Maswik Lodge because it was the only place available with air conditioning. We were very pleasantly surprised at the clean, modern, and comfortable room we found! The bathroom was updated and had wonderful water pressure. The room was easily big enough for four people, and it was only a 5 minute walk to the Grand Canyon rim. It... more

Stayed here for two nights in June with family (2 small children). Rooms were clean, comfortable, quiet and safe. Veranda facing the forest was a nice touch. Great food court for the budget conscious. Food was still expensive when compared to any other place outside the park but much cheaper than other hotels. You have to walk maybe 5 minutes... more

We stayed at the Maswik Lodge only because everything else inside the Park was fully booked. It turned out to be a pleasant surprise and, if I were able to do the trip again with a full choice of lodging, I would still stay at the Maswik Lodge based on comparative value. At $181/night (over the Memorial Day w/e) the... more

We stayed here for 2 nights the end of June 09. Yes the rooms are a little prices but you are only a 5 minute walk to see the Grand Canyon, right by the free shuttle pick up. Rooms are larger (2Q), are pretty nice overall, fridge, nice bathroom, extra storage shelves here and there. We were in the north... more

We were all pleasantly surprised with the accommodations at the Maswick. The location was great, a short walk to the Bright Angel trailhead and the rim trail. Parking was right infront of our room and you could leave your car all day and walk to everything at the canyon. The room had 2 queen beds and a cot available if... more

We tried to reserve a room inside the park when we planned our trip but couldn't find vacancies. Once we were on the road, I tried again. I was so excited when something opened up that would save us from driving out of the park overnight! Our room at Maswik North was quite comfortable. The room with two queens was... more

We stayed here for one night and booked it through xanterra. Reception: Very helpful and effecient Rooms: This is essentially a clean motel in the park. Our room was clean, dry and warm and this met our expecations based on other travellers reviews. The bathroom was clean also. Location: a few minutes walk from the rim and also from the... more

We will always stay at Maswik when we return to the Grand Canyon. The room was like a mid-range motel or even hotel but cleaner and a bit bigger. At only $90 our room seemed to be a good deal for staying in the park. And the location was spectacular! A little outside of the village madness, right by the... more

Stayed here for a couple of nights while checking out the Grand Canyon. Good sized, clean rooms. Good value with a great range of facilities. Good location with only a short walk to the Canyon, especially good when you consider how the price of accommodation jumps when you get closer to the rim. Would definitely stay again! more

The Maswik lodge is bit of a contradiction - a newer and more traditional motel property inside the Grand Canyon National Park Rim Village complex, it actually has more of certain amenities than some of the more storied properties like the Bright Angel lodge. At Maswik, you get an actual bathtub, you get two beds if you need them, and... more
