We just stayed at The Grand Hotel while visiting the Grand Canyon. Although the location was great (3 miles from the park), I wasn't overly impressed with the hotel. After calling 3 times prior to our stay to confirm our reservation with AAA discount, we arrived to find that they did not have our discount and we saved about $100... more

The hotel was fairly average and not really great value for money.... pretty much what you'd expect from a hotel a mile from the Grand Canyon Park. The rooms were ok although they needed modernising and the bathrooms were pretty standard. The restaurant was decent, if a little pricey for what it was, and the lobby area was fairly nice... more

We stayed at the Grand Hotel for 2 nights, May 29-31, 2009. A cab driver we know from the Flagstaff area recommended this hotel, although he did say it was a little pricey. Since we booked at the last minute, we didn't get any price breaks. The total for 2 nights in a standard room, w/breakfast, was about $380. The... more

5/22-5/25. Plenty of parking & close to lobby/doors. Immediate issue with cost despite my printed confirmation#/costs, which Rich resolved upon check out. Sink not draining & light bulb out. Clean, pillow top beds nice. Room 325, double queen with balcony, but only 1 chair & no table, nothing to the left & wall to the right, private, but how do... more

Over and over again, the staff went out of their way to accomodate us. After a long day, we checked in, hoping to grab a nice dinner and a few drinks. Unfortunately, the restaurant had been rented out to a private local party....some sort of religious Mexican celebration. Quckly, the staff and guests of the private party invited us to... more

The hotel is very charming and the front desk staff was very friendly from the moment we arrived. The hotel offers free wifi and, depending on how close you are to the hub, the download/upload speed is approx 1439/952 kbps. For the location and the price (AAA Rate Wed/Thurs/Fri $81/$81/$90), the room was comfortable. Having said that, I have a... more

We were staying in Vegas and took a trip to the Grand Canyon. The Grand is a nice, comfy hotel about a mile from the Grand Canyon National Park. During reservation my wife had mentioned that we were coming up on our 10th wedding anniversary. To our surprise, when we got to the room a bottle of champagne and chocolate... more

This hotel was a quick overnight stay that allowed us to travel to the Grand Canyon National Park in the morning from an overnight stay at Monument Valley. With a view to then travelling through to Las Vegas. The hotel is located just outside the park, and is well sited within the small town Tusayan. From the outside the hotel... more

When I had looked into where we would stay the night before entering the canyon I had decided we would probably make the drive from Williams or if we did stay in Tusyan we would probably stay at the Holiday Inn Express or Canyon Plaza. My main objectives were to find a heated indoor pool and a clean room. We... more

My partner and I recently (2 May 2009) spent 6 nights at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas before heading to the Grand Canyon. To say that these hotels are at opposite ends of the spectrum is an understatement - and yet the Bellagio was $30/night CHEAPER than the Grand Hotel. I would echo most of the comments that others... more
