This hotel is probably one of the priciest in Tusayan. The lobby looked very grand, but the rooms were standard motel quality. Very clean though. We had two rooms booked, but they did not have any connecting rooms. The coffee maker also was not ample for the number of guests. We were mostly away exploring the Canyon, so did not... More

We stayed here 2-3 nights. From the outside and the lobby, it looked pretty decent. We got our room, it was roomy, bathroom was big but a little ruined down. Carpet was yucky. No fridge. There was a coffee maker, Keurig. We constantly asked for more coffee as the only leave one K cup of coffe and a tea. Only... More

Aside from being minutes from the Grand Canyon, everything else about this place is deceptive. Starting with the exorbitant rate, suggesting a higher quality standard. This is a motel pretending to be something more. The lobby is basic, the front desk staff indifferent, the hallways unkept and the room musty with worn sheets and towels. We were scheduled to stay... This is a very decent, clean hotel. Nothing fancy but there really isn't anything fancy except The El Tovar Hotel sitting on the edge of the Canyon in it's stateley, historical place. If you are going on a family trip or are going to hike the Canyon, this Grand Hotel will serve you just fine. And, that is saying a... More

The food at the bar was gross and overpriced. The linens have seen better days. No mattress protector and the sheets were so worn they had itchy balls forming. Ewe! The carpet felt damp. The bathroom towels looked worn with unraveling edges. Reminded me of the rags my husband uses to clean the car. One dirty towel was hanging for... More

We've stayed here for a couple of days in September and chose it because it was close to the GC airport since we have had a full day GC adventure starting with a flight. In overall it was a nice stay, the room was clean and service at the reception was good. We've had dinner at the hotel's steakhouse which... More

Was traveling through Northern AZ and did a quick trip to the Grand Canyon. I was just too tired to drive on so elected to take a last minute stay at the Grand in Grand Canyon City just outside the park's main South Rim gate. I was very relieved that my experience was superior to my expectations after reading other... More

This place ticks all the 'average' boxes. The rooms are OK - in fairness they are clean. The restaurant is huge but the food very mediocre. It's in the town of Tusuyan which seems to be the last town before you enter the Grand Canyon NP at the south rim. The town is a small place which serves the tourists... More

Without even looking, I’m sure there are more reviews with titles like “Not So Grand.” There is actually nothing wrong with The Grand Hotel. The rooms are pleasant, well enough appointed and comfortable and the staff is fine. It’s just that with that kind of name, and those kinds of prices, you expect more. But pickings are slim around the... More

Prices for rooms in the Grand Canyon area are high because of the market demand. What you get from The Grand Hotel, is a large motel with a restaurant/bar attached. The rooms themselves are large, comfortable, with a desk, a long counter with a modern coffee machine, tub shower, good towels. The beds were comfortable with large firm pillows, and... More
