We booked the Canyon Plaza as a base for the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. The location of the hotel is excellent - just outside the national park - and the check-in staff were very friendly, but otherwise the Canyon Plaza is an expensive disappointment. The quality of the room was really poor - outdated, in need of renovation... More

While it was a little pricey it was well in line with the other hotels in the vicinity of the Grand Canyon. The shuttle bus to the park made park access very convenient. Restaurant was pretty good and we liked the indoor hot tub. Staff seemed very friendly.

Quite an expensive place to stay - I guess it's due to its location near the entrance of grand canyon national park. The hotel itself is ok. Discount vouchers (10%) are offered for dinner buffet and breakfast. Although the waiter agreed on exchanging soup for the buffet starters the soup was charged in addition to the price for the dinner... More

The room was functional and clean. However, we found the whole layout and communal facilities oddly humourous; it was rather like stepping into a 1980's leisure centre. We were lucky enough to have a room at the back, facing the the forest area. This gave us the chance to see some deer roaming around. We were also pleased with the service... More

Good friendly staff room comfortable and had tea and coffee facilities although no fridge but for one night we could make do. Good location for the canyon had a shuttle bus for $8 return per person or could just pay the $25 to enter the park and drive yourself so thats what we did. If you don't want to eat... More

I was very dissappointed with our one night stay. Our room reeked of smoke! The bathroom became intolerable when moisture ampliflied the cigarette smell. It seemed the smoke was in all the fabrics. To make things worse, the cost was very high for tired, outdated rooms, halls, entrances and our discomfort. It looked like a college dorm! Not what we expected... More

For $400 a night this is the view from the Canyon Plaza Resort, dumped trucks and cars. If you enjoy sleeping in a dumping ground or have an old vehicle that you wish to get rid of then this is the perfect hotel for you. If you wish to try out this hotel before booking, simply rest on a double... More

This hotel is unfortunately one of those situations where they are in the right location, demand is high and supply is short. Ultimately, they are overpriced and the quality is poor. The rooms are outdated, but clean and fairly large with everything you need. WiFi is complimentary. I didn't use any of the hotel facilities or restaurants so I can't... More

We payed top dollar to stay at this lower budget resort . It is a shame that the choices are so limited when visiting the south rim of the grand canyon. You would think that as a resort owner, you would try to at least give your resort a reputation of quality and not just know you could offer low... More

There are very few places to stay around the Grand Canyon. That must be the reason they can charge so much. When i called for a room, the gurl told me the room would have a balcony of some woods. She forgot to mention that there were dumpsters and some sort of dump infront of the woods. Usually when we... More
