Took my husband for his birthday we were staying only one day he wanted to fish all day and one day out of the year why not, the unpaved road getting there was ridiculous but kept saying once we get there all will be great yeah right the so called resort was no resort at all the whole time all... Had planned big family friend gathering over the 4th of July, many reviews were horrible. What a wonderful surprise we got. Yes, the rooms are simple, and the beds truly need upgrading, but they were more than adequate. Perfect location. We were in 216, I can only speak for me, but all in our party were more than satisfied. The... More

First, i will say the trip up the mountain was beautiful! The lake itself and the views are stunning and well worth the trip. However, be prepared for "glorified camping" in this resort. This "resort" is by far, the trashiest place I've ever stayed! Room was dirty, lamp shades barely hanging on, sheets were stained and probably 20 years old,... More

First off the fact that they call this a "resort" well the joke is on you. I've been coming here for 20+ years. It just gets worse and worse every year. The reason I keep returning every year is because it's one of the most beautiful lakes in Arizona. It's truly heart breaking how neglected and rundown the "resort" is.... More

I have been coming to Apache Lake for the past 15 years. The lake is beautiful and not crowded. It is a great place to spend time on the water with family and friends. Now on to the resort. It is unkept, and managed very poorly. Once you realize this you can make adjustments. I now take my own cleaning... More

We called the marina ahead of our visit and was told they had "boats" for rent. We arrived the next day and got our room at the hotel and went to rent a boat for a couple days of fishing. No boats. They only have 1 boat total for rent and it was already rented. Luckily it was only for... More

Rather than stop at Tortilla Flats we pushed onto Apache Lake before stopping for lunch. The crowds were huge at Tortilla Flats, not so much at Apache Lake. The restaurant is nice, and has a patio, although when we got there the patio was in the shade. great tip from our server, she could not serve us unless we were... More

The complex comprises a marina, camp sites and motel on the shores of Apache lake, a reservoir. It is reached by a spectacular unpaved road (rout 88) through the Superstition Mountains. I can't say enough about the beauty of the scenery to reach this place. The road is a very curvy and somewhat bumpy but well worth the drive. I... More

I don't believe there is a more beautiful lake to spend a couple days with the family. The room we stayed in was adequate for being in a remote area.I only wish the kitchenette had pots, pans bowls, ect. I'm guessing why they don't is due to theft. But a little garage sale run to globe or phoenix would produce a... More

We have been going to Apache Lake for many years and the only thing that I can say is that nothing has changed! The people are wonderful, the lake is amazing, the lodge and the restaurant are fine and the rooms are air conditioned! It is fun in a basic way. If you are looking for something fancier, this is...
