Well located, cool music all day long with an active bar and gacuzzi on the roof. I had a great time. The owner is young and nice and the prices are good. Above all the rooms are clean and the bads are comfortable

The slight disappointment for us was that the pool was being refurbed. However, we had a drink and some food and both were good. Falafel, cauliflower and some dips to go with. All homemade and all lovely. A really chilled atmosphere too, just lazing on the lounge pillows.

Zoola is a class act of a hostel. Although the rooms are very basic, they completely serve their purpose. Zoola's chill out areas are second to none, with a chill-out lounge style cafe which serves awesome Israeli style food and smoothies - although you might have to wait a while to be served! Beyond here, there is a wicked bar... More

We enjoyed our stay here. We all thought the food was excellent and the large chill area is a great place to chat and relax, especially if it decides to rain. The pool and bar at the back are also lovely, with great views of the lake and a nice deck to sunbath on. It's just a shame the lake... More

Unfriendly and unhelpful staff. They told us they had no dorm beds so I ended up sharing a quadruple by the bar area. Later that night i found out they did have dorm beds, but it was too late. They blasted music from 12pm - 1am, and they were doing some kind of construction at 7am the next morning! Further,... More

I came to try the falafel and was really disappointed. Whilst it was edible, it certainly was not anything special and for 60q with a beer I think I could have eaten better elsewhere. Yes, service was a little slow but that does not phase me if the food makes up for it.

A well laid out hostel; the pool and bar have an amazing view of Lake Atitlan, then there is the chill out area, the restaurants and the private rooms and dorms towards the back of the property. Extremely comfortable beds in both the privates and dorms (as I've slept on both) and the food is tasty as well. Top choice... More

I'm reviewing the restaurant and bar - not the hostel. It took 2 hours from sitting to order food to paying due to the very slow service, which was strange as there weren't many diners. My friend was given the wrong meal, then told it was falafel. She agreed to eat it anyway, but it turned out to be meatballs.... More

I stayed at Zoola hotel/hostal in a dorm. it is for Guatamala standard more expensive and the difference between double and dorm is almost nothing. So find you're partner. No lockers and the staff will help you but not always friendly behind the desk. The hostel is beautiful with a clean and great view over the lake next to the... More

The food in San Pedro has been wonderful in every place we've been until we hit Zoola. I ordered meatballs with mashed potatoes, tomato sauce and a side salad. I asked for cooked veg instead of salad. That wasn't possible apparently cos it took 'too long'. We waited 30 min for the meal anyway, and saw a table full of... More
