This is a great place to stay. It's in an almost perfect location right by the landing stage on the Lake in Santa Cruz. There's a selection of rooms from dorms to more 'luxurious' ones. We stayed in the cabana, which is mid-priced. It's fairly basic but had its own bathroom and was good value for money. The electric shower... More

Pros:Got my vegetarian meal, cute rooms, lots of activities, incredible view, friendly staff, hot water, no wifi (relaxing), friendly dogs. Con: got mixed up in our group reservation, had to move room twice, but hey, all got fixed in the end. No plugs in my room but private shower, can't have it all!

This place is amazing. We got to stay in the treehouse bunk which was pretty much like camping, and we had zero problems. All of the staff was extremely kind and helpful The family style dinner, followed by the drag show was absolutely fantastic. Everyone was so excited to participate and the vibes of the atmosphere were A+. It's a... More

I really grappled with how I was going to rate this place and have been caught up between terrible and poor. Somehow, I feel like I still overrated this place. This was the second place in Guatemala that we stayed at and was by and large one of the worst. I'm just going to commit to writing a long review.... More

Wow and ouch! The worst review we have ever had by far. I am writing as the active manager you said didn't exist, i was also the person who checked you in.,.......i will take being able to go into "dark mode" as a complement as it makes me sound like a super hero! I get paid by the month, not... More

Beautiful hostel with amazing views, directly situated on lake Atitlan. You can only reach the village by foot or by boat, which makes it very tranquil and not overcrowded. The beds are good and the service is awesome. They have Mayan cooks who cook amazing food and I can definitely recommend the saturday night barbecue. If you really need wifi... More

This was our first trip to Lake Atitlan and some friends recommended we stay at La Iguana Perdida. For the value, you can't really beat it. Pros: -Location: Right on the Lake with gorgeous 360 degree views -Food: My husband and I are vegetarians and they had plenty of options for us. They always had veg friendly food for dinner... More

Located directly off of the docks in Santa Cruz there is no difficulty in finding La Iguana! The food is superb, breakfast and lunch are ordered off of menus and dinner is set and conducted family style. It's a bit of a part place on weekend nights when they have their BBQ. The views are second to none and the... More

If Lake Atitlan is the most beautiful of lakes, than the Iguana Perdida is the perfect place to realize this. From there you see all three volcanoes which make this lake such a magic place - from the shore opposite you won't! This place has no WiFi and that is symptomatic. They say, they like giggles more than google, want... More
