Posada Jaibalito is a great place to get to know and enjoy the small village of Jaibalito. The hotel has a great restaurant with very good german food and very tasty bread. The place is laid-back, clean and basic, but has a all you need :). I stayed there for one night with my husband and we had a good... More

We originally weren't sure if this place was open because the gates were closed but turns out you just let yourself in! We came for coffee in the afternoon but the staff were quite nonchalant and it just seemed like there were loads of ducks coming around. We came back in the evening and the experience was much better! There... More

The ultimate end of the road place where we people who want to check out come to do so. An amazing vibe, laid back. Easily the weirdest mix of people I've ever seen in a bar. And zacapa for 15Q a shot. Just don't rush to get here, and don't be in a rush to leave.

The redbearded german Hans runs this nice posada in the village of Jaibalito. His prices are just not beatable, and his dorm and rooms are always clean and welcoming.Great german and guatemalan style food with incredible homemade bread and coffee. If you have anything on your mind, Hans is very likely to have the answer, or the service you are... More

All I can say is thank you Jans, this Posada in the village of Jaibalito is an oasis. It's well run, super clean, and has a community feel. As someone said in an earlier review, very authentic, as the owner does a lot for the small village and its inhabitants, the local Ketchakel. Much better than any options for a... More

My wife and I rented a lake shore villa just down a footpath from Han's version of a bed and breakfast. He improved on the business model by offering lunch, dinner, groceries, booze, and money exchange. Although we were not staying at his facility, we spent a lot of time there. The clientele were just as friendly as the staff.... More

Have spent many months eating at Posada Jaibalito, with the tastiest, most reasonable meals ANYWHERE. Hans, the owner is the nicest guy I ve ever met. Nobody does more for the pueblo than he, and he s simply an exceptional honest caring human being, the best.

I heard about this place from other travellers and after hearing that they offer traditional german food, I knew that I will go there! The Hostel is run by a really nice austrian man, who built up his small oasis of peace in the small village at lago atitlan, that you can only reach by boat. There he cultivates his... More

This isn't luxury, it's best to say this now. However getting luxury in Jaibalito is not easy... The place is very nice, with a beautiful garden, a nice restaurant, decent rooms and very near the lake. What makes the place special however is the owner, and the atmosphere. It is a very ethical place, Hans the owner is well known... More
