Since the first day I visited the Vulcano Lodge, I felt overwhelmed with its beauty, countless gardens with exotic and colorful flowers, making contrast with the cactuses along the many trails you find at the place, brought me happiness everywhere I looked, the food is fantastic and the rooms impeccable with a very cozy vibe, feels better than home. I`m... More

Gustavo is very helpful and friendly. Great service and ambience with beautiful landscaping, comfortable rooms, and hot water showers. We were fortunate to get the highest room with great views of the lake and volcanoes from the oversize veranda. Excellent (and cheap) Mexican restaurant just down the street.

We are a group of 15-20 volunteers from Canada that have been coming to Guatemala for many years building school furniture and houses. Each year we take a weekend to come up to Vulcano Lodge from Antigua. We have never been disappointed. It is under new ownership now, and we found Gustav has carried on the tradition of excellent service... More

We booked two nights at Vulcano Lodge but extended our stay by another night as the place is mesmerizing. Gustavo, the owner is very attentive and helpful and even organised us a local guide - from the village- for a hike. The bungalows are very clean and comfortable and the garden is full of butterflies and exotic flowers. The hammock... More

My girlfriend and me just stayed 5 nights in this beautiful lodge, although we only had planned for 3. If we had more time left we had even added more nights, as it is really a wonderful place to be. Jaibalito is a nice small village, that is compared to the other villages we saw on the lake, very quiet,... More

We stayed 2 nights in the Hanging Garden room. We found the room clean, comfortable and had hot water shower. Breakfast was included and the owner Gustav was attentive in making sure our needs were met. We had one dinner there which was good and some dinners next door at Hans which are tasty and good for the budget. We... More

The Volcano Lodge is a great place to stay in Jaibalito (note that Jaibalito is a VERY small “town” on the lake). The grounds are amazingly manicured with cactus, tropical plants, and even a stream running through the grounds. We reserved a tiny loge with two twin beds and found the room to be clean and comfortable. The food was... More
