We were guests at La Casa del Mundo in February 2015 for our son's wedding (which took place at an adjoining resort). Our stay was four days, and it was the most peaceful and beautiful location we have ever visited. The location itself, nestled in the mountains of Jaibalito, it beyond stunning. Our immaculate room had two patios, one of... More

A truly magical place we didn't want to leave. Beautiful, clean cottages amongst tropical lush gardens overlooking the lake and volcanoes. We loved every minute of our stay here. Group candlelit dinners, private Jetty and lake to swim in, private balconies, delicious food. So hard to leave. Thank you for a beautiful stay

My boyfriend and I stayed here for three nights in January. We arrived having booked two nights but straight away booked an additional night and would have stayed longer had we not been on a tight schedule. My boyfriend choose to propose to me whilst we were here (his location of choice after travelling for two months in Central America)... More

Casa Del Mundo was a fabulous retreat. It's owned by an American/Guatemalan family - originally their home. Rooms were $37 to $83. The rooms are spaced out up and set down the mountain so it feels really private. It was 140 steps to our room so be prepared. Many little private patios and hammocks are placed all around. The views... More

We arrived im guatemala and went straight to casa del mundo, which was recommended by friends. We booked the cheapest room (270Q/30 euros) online for 3 days. Once we arrived we decided to stay for another night and finally ended up 6 nights ;). It's a true paradise, with wonderful views of the lake and volcanoes, flowers everywhere and many... More

Casa del mundo do is very nice at a great price, only 20 or so units all with amazing views of lake and volcanos, plenty of hot hot water for a shower. To go anywhere you need to take a public boat, it's best and easiest to have breakfast here then go out exploring for the day, come back and... More

My room was darling, situation privately on a porch with a few hammocks overlooking Lake Atitlan and the volcanoes. Easily one of the most beautiful places I've had the privilege of sleeping. The owners are so sweet. Would highly recommend staying here.

Gaspar is the "Manager"(I don't really know why) who gave us some wrong directions and was rude all the time... He also made a mistake about the dinner, we paid a high price for a gnocchi a boloñese, And we had a vegetarian caneloni, that had nuts inside(my girlfriend is allergic to nuts, And it was her birthday, Nice gift...).... BEWARE of the guy named Gaspar who normally stays at the bar. He's not only unfriendly but gave us wrong directions (we had to beg for some) and said random prices of boats and extra things in the menu. He was sarcastic all the time and tried to keep us at hotel for all our stay like we were ate... More

Two of us stayed one night at the Casa del Mundo in Jaibalito in January of 2015. This is a rather unique hotel built into the hillside with its own lakeside dock. Hiring a private boat to take us around the lake to maximize our visit of the Lake area, we dropped our luggage off at the hotel the morning... More
