We stayed here for three nights and loved it. The hotel is beautiful with lots of nooks and crannies with seats or hammocks to relax. Delicious food. We stayed in both room 20 and room 12 and they were equally charming. Communal dinners are very friendly. Nachos were amazing - as were the liquardos!

Whether you are just coming for breakfast/lunch, quick swim, or spending a few nights here, this place is amazing!!! Beds aren't the most comfortable... but man! With that view, who cares! Food is excellent, service, is superb! Fabulous experience and amazing view of the lake! Definitely would recommend spending at least one night and waking up early to catch the... More

Each time I visit Panajachel, I've had the privilege of lunching at La Casa del Mundo. The first time we were pulling up to the hotel, I honestly thought that is was where Mama Mia had been filmed. The walk up is a little challenging - stone steps that are fairly steep - but I can assure you it will... More

This hotel has a lot to offer those wanting a relaxing time beside the lake but having good access to a variety of excursions around the lake. Beside being clean and the friendly helpful staff, the hotel offers delicious family style dinners which provides the opportunity to meet and get to know people from all over the world. Local activities... More

I love it! even when there are so many steps to the room! We paid Q450 for the night in a room with a great view of the lake and a small terrace. Private and cozy! really romantic place if you go with like a couple. I just will say that bed make a lot of noise....but after that, me... More

This is our 4th or 5th time here. We love it! You must be able to climb a bunch of stairs, but if you are able....so worth it. Each room, decorated with local textiles and art, has a beautiful view of the lake and the volcanos. Food is fabulous, service wonderful, and a great place to relax after a day... More

A most magical place with stunning views, an incredibly friendly staff, absolutely delicious food, and well-appointed rooms, each with its own special view and balcony. Swimming in the lake was heavenly, as was kayaking around the cove with its emerald green waters. We were a multi-generational group, and the place was perfect for everyone's tastes. We also had dietary restrictions... More

Magical setting, comfortable and spotless accommodations, and pure tranquility. This is a great place to start your holiday at Lake Atitlan for these reasons: it meets the standards of travelers who are accustomed to higher end properties, it is remote (accessible only by boat) but still just 15 minutes boat ride from Panajachel, situated on the north side of the... This was my second time at Casa del Mundo, and it was an amazing visit. We were in room 13, right on top of the dining area. Pros: absolutely stunning views, spacious private balcony, "public" bathroom just outside our door (which was great since there were three of us), very large and comfortable room. The only cons were some noise... More

Leave room in your itinerary to stay an extra day or two, it really is that beautiful. I have stayed here twice now, and many people stay over and over. It's relaxing and tranquil, and the staff go out of their way to be helpful. The gardens and are so pretty with fowers everywhere, and everything is perfectly kept. As... More
