My family traveled to Costa Rica in April. We have two boys, ages 7 and 9. This was, by far, our favorite part of our trip. David and his staff were friendly and accommodating and the tours and outing they offer were the best. We went snorkeling at Cano Island and did the trip to Corcovado National Park. Gregory was... We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. Although the room wasn't that great (we chose Iguana : very small bed, many insects, no warm water, but clean and with a nice view), we LOVED this placed : the staff (Jon especially) is adorable, very helpful. The food was HEAVEN (never ate better food anywhere else in Costa Rica), and... More

Staying at Las Caletas Lodge is an experience quite different from most resorts we've been to. It is on the rustic side but with a touch of the more conventional resort experience. You need to remember that you are in probably the most remote portion of Costa Rica. This lodge embodies that feeling. The rooms range from a very nice... More

I feel very lucky that I found Las Caletas and that they had space for be during busy Semana Santa holiday. What a perfectly relaxing place to spend five days. First, I stayed in one of the deluxe tents and was very lucky to have a tent with a view of the gardens and the ocean, it was perfect. The... More

My husband and I stayed at Las Caletas for 5 nights. What an amazing trip! This lodge is truly off the grid, in the middle of the rainforest. You eat all of your meals together with the other guests (a great way to meet new people from around the world!), and the food is fresh and delicious. (They accommodate dietary... More

Las Caletas is for the rugged traveler who does not want comforts and familiarity. I stayed in a tent positioned on a wooden frame. While that may sound romantic in the jungle of Costa Rica, that also means poor lighting, an uncomfortable bed, an unlit trek to the bathroom, very basic shared shower down the path from my bed, and... This place is stunning! It lies just up the hill from the beach and most access this place by boat. It is possible to walk to Drake's Bay town in about an hour. We didn't actually stay here but we stumbled across this place when looking for a coffee stop. The owner, David, and his staff allowed us to sit... More

My husband and five year old son stayed at Las Caletas for four days. The lodge and location truly was paradise for us. Let David, the owner organize your tours and you'll be in good hands. After reading about some of the negative Cano Island tours with other companies, I was hesitant to say the least. We had a memorable... More

Third time in Las Caletas for a 2 weeks stay. Everything is so perfect, nice and enchanting. The whole staff is more than welcoming and David is , year after year, always there to help your holidays to be really perfect. The meals ( all inclusive, so not expensive ) are delicious ( coffe and cookies all day long )... More

We reserved for 4 days at Las Caletas in february and ended up staying 2 weeks! This place is so special that we just didn't want to go anywhere else. David, the owner, managed to fit us in somehow, from casita to tent and back again. The large and comfortable tents were the best. Yolanda was very prompt and helpful... More
