This place is a bit rustic, some of the cabins do not have electricity. There is a big variation in cabins, so be sure to check out a few - some have balconies, some have fans, etc. The food we had was tasty enough and breakfasts and dinners are abundant while lunch is more like a light snack. I would... more

We been to Costa Rica a few times and each time we really have a wonder time. But this time we decided to stay at Mirador hotel which is a piece of crap. Our so called room is nothing but a square shack make with tin walls. Raindrops leak through the roof and wetted our beds. There was no lights... more

We had a great time at El Mirador. Granted, it was a bit rustic. The food was great, the staff was great and very helpful. It was about as all-inclusive as a backpacker would ever want to get. The view from our porch was beautiful, and there's something really relaxing about falling asleep to the sound of crashing waves and... more

We read many good reviews about the MIrador, Lets Go gave it their only "Thumbs Up" in Drake Bay, for example. I realize that different travelers have different tastes, but this place was the worst place we stayed in Costa Rica in terms of access, aesthetics of the room, and price. On the plus side, the views from the rooms... more

This area is the more remote part of Costa Rica so it is much more quiet, thus there are not tourisy shops or restaurants. However, it is not a problem because this hotel feeds you real well!! The food they prepare is amazing and so much too! I was apprehensive about eating together with strangers but in the end, this... more

First of all, if you are booking online, MAKE SURE you book through the hotel's official web site ([--]) and not the fake sites that are all posted by travel agents and charge you extra fees. We made the mistake but luckily the staff was nice enough at El Mirador to give us a discount to make up for the... more

A friend recommended the Mirador to me after I described the type of vacation I was looking for. I didn't want anything touristy or developed; wanted to get excercise and see the wildlife of Costa Rica. It was everything I had hoped for and so much more. Rustic but clean, the staff was wonderful, the food was the best I've... more

Just returned from my second visit to Drakes Bay / El Mirador. I visited in January of 2007 with my sister and returned this year with my husband, our 14 year old daughter and 16 year old niece. My sister joined us again as well. When booking our accomodations, it didn't look like we'd be able to stay at the... more

My husband and I have travelled to Costa Rica five times and our favorite area is Drake Bay/Corcovado. Fortunately, we discovered the Mirador on our first trip to the area and do not hesitate to book here whenever we are back in Osa. There is a very steep walk upstairs that is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. This... more

This little friendly family-run spot is by my opinion the best place to stay in Drake Bay. It is on the opposite side of the bay from all the big resorts, so you won't meet many other tourists. The place has it own restaurant , but the it is a set meal every day - and the food is great... more
