This place was awesome. It's right on the beach in a remote area on the Pacific coast in Southern Costa Rica. The staff is great, especially the bartender Claudio, and the tour guides are all friendly and knowledgeable. The food was really good, and eating at one big table with the rest of the guests was a lot of fun... more

I should begin by saying that our stay here was the highlight for the 7 children aged 12 - 16 we had with us. The location is idyllic although it is fair to say that some of the beach is drab. The rooms were clean and comfortable if basic - you expect that in an "eco lodge". Sadly the administration... more

Jinetes de Osa is a nice place with laid back attitude, pleasant staff where you can meet a lot of interesting people. Because it is quite remote there aren't quite so many tourists as in other parts of Costa Rica so the place is a bit more unspoilt. Meals are served in a communal area which helps to meet other... more

Stayed ten days in Drake Bay and had an amazing time! Drinks and dinner several times at Jinetes and thought it was great! Friendly and helpful owners and staff, especially Alexis and wonderful food. Met lots of new friends during dinner, because of the innovative dining area ( a huge table where everyone can sit together) and would recommend Jinetes... more

Had a great time here. The staff is awesome. We have to give out a huge shout out to ALEXIS. She was simply awesome. Loved the boat ride in. Love the big table where you ate with your fellow guests. Which was a great way to meet people and to learn about tours, other areas etc.....Every hotel should do this.... more

The staff could not be more friendly or accommodating. The casual atmosphere of Jinetes is what keeps people coming, day in and day out. This was my first visit to Costa Rica, and I have not been able to stop thinking about my experience since I left...It was a very sad day when I had to depart from the Drake... more

There are many good things to say about this hotel. The hiking trail leading South offers many opportunities to see great wildlife like monkeys and birds. Drake Bay puts you within a boat ride of Corcovado National Park, which was a wonderful experience (the boat ride can be choppy, so pick your days). The Bug Lady night walk was outstanding,... more

You never know when you book on the web what some place will really be like. We landed with our meager 25 pounds of luggage (tiny plane) on an airstrip with only a windsock and a fire extinguisher. My husband gave me that "you've really done it this time" look. A Jeep pulls up and we were off on a... more

We spent 17 days in Costa Rica but Jinetes de Osa was our absolute favorite. We spent 6 days at this location & were very sad to leave. They provided excellent tours with amazing guides. Rolando & his brother were determined to find as much wildlife as possible while sharing information about the area. In Corcovado among other things we... more

Jinetes de Osa is an unspoiled lodge with good food and excellent service in an outstanding location. Owner Greg is an expat who has been running the lodge for the last 11 years and his experience shows in his choice of friendly staff and knowledgeable guides. The fresh bread at every family-style meal is a big plus for hungry people... more
