We stayed here for 4 nights at the beginning of our trip to Costa Rica and loved Drake Bay - it's a beautiful and fairly remote area which is well worth a visit. Our room was pretty basic but clean and comfortable, it had very high ceilings with windows right at the top so there was no view out, which... more

We called the resort from San Jose, CR the day before we were to head down to Jinetes de Oso and we were told the diving was great. So we spent the whole next day traveling to get there (bus, taxi, boat taxi through mangrove forest and ocean, etc.) and when we arrived they informed us the diving season was... more

If you want an affordable tropical adventure that combines rainforest exploration and deep sea water sports, Jinetes de Osa will fit the bill perfectly, as we found out. The hotel is simple, clean and well-located on beautiful Drake Bay on the Osa Penninsula. Food is great. Staff is delightful. Excursions, which range from horseback riding into the jungle to scuba... more

Jinetes de Osa is like a summer camp for well-traveled adventurers. Beautiful setting right off the beach and a very positive, upbeat management on site. Good dive op as well with cool divemasters: CK and Oscar. Great birding with Scarlet Macaws making regular appearances. There is nothing like birding from a hammock and bangin' out life species. Coffee is set... more

My husband and I spent several days at Jinetes, and had many amazing adventures. The diving was amazing. I'm a new diver and was very nervous about going down, but the dive master (Vincent) was wonderful - and made me feel at ease. The horse riding to the waterfall was also very charming! And of course, it was amazing just... more

We stayed 4 nts and totally enjoyed all the different people you meet at dinner. It almost feels like you're at summer camp. Carrie and Jessica line you out the night before on your next days excursion (Cano, Corcovado, fishing, hiking etc.) They're like counselors with their clipboards telling you what you need for the next days adventure. Rooms are... more

Spent 3 nights here. Room was ok -lovely view but no hot water at all. When this was queried staff saidthey would look into this. Turned out not one guest had had hot water for days. Food was ok but very small portions. Afternoon snacks are available but the saff don't tell you this. We only found out about this... more

We had a great time in Jinetes meeting some great guests and amazing staff. Food was great and there is a lovely deck to lie in hammocks overlooking the sea. They set us up with some great activities as well. more

Drake Bay is an amazing destination and the hotel was everything we could have wished for - friendly staff, fantastic views, incredible wildlife wherever you looked. Waking at sunrise to the smell of fresh coffee on the balcony and a caphony of bird sounds was particularly memorable, and the monkey stealing the sugar bowl and trying to crack it open... more

My wife and I, on a recommendation from a friend who had stayed there 1 month earlier, stayed at Jinetes for 4 nights. The place is right on the beach, overlooking Drake Bay. We did a 1 day snorkeling tour to Cano Island. That was great except it had rained the day before so the visibility wasn't the best. We... more
