We (parents and 3 children) liked it very much there. We made a beautiful trip through the jungle, saw many wild animals, made a nice boattrip and went to an island for snorkeling. Despite of the rainseason we had good weather. The people of the lodge where very nice and could tell many things about the area. etc. There were... more

Adventure starts with the boat-trip through mangrove swamps and ocean waves. Arriving at Punta Marenco Lodge, you can't believe that the boat will really land with these rough waves between all these rocks at the beach. Sometimes several young men are waiting at the boatlanding to hold the boat and help the tourists to get in and out the boat.... more

We are back from our trip to Costa Rica. We liked all the places but the punta marenco lodge felt like a grand-desert! When the boat dropped us at the beach we felt like Robinson. The people at the lodge were so kind. De lodge is up on a hill and the view is magnificant. When you like nature above... more

This is the fourth time we went to Costa rica and the second time we stayed at the Punta Marenco lodge. And with a reason. For people that love nature and adventure this is the place to be! It is a relative comfortable place to stay considering the location on a cliffside in the rainforest. On the east coast it... more

Best experience in my entire life. but i don't mind an "adventure" and bugs and the wilderness. You don't travel to a remote resort bordering a National Park situated on a peninsula accessible by boat and expect a 4 star hotel. I would hope for the sake of the wild there never is one in that location. Beautiful place, not... more

I use Trip Advisor alot to find out about places to stay and had checked out Punta Marenco before my trip. Nothing prepared me for how dirty and insecure the huts were and I really want to let other people know about the standard so that they don't experience the same horror. The rooms are basic, but I expected that... more

If you are looking for a remote jungle adventure you will appreciate Punta Marenco Lodge. I am not an adventurer. I enjoy my comforts and will admit that staying here was a challenge for me... a little too remote and rugged for me, though my boyfriend who is a nature photographer was thrilled by the experience. We drove to Sierpe... more

Stayed 5 days at Punta Marenco. Nothing fancy but for $65 per day including meals was a great value. The staff was very friendly and the food well prepared. The location is up on a hill overlooking Isla De Cano and behind the lodge is a 1500 plus acre virgin rainforest preserve. Pedro in who handles logistics in San Jose... more

Se also Swede1102 since I wont repete his very correct comments. We were four adults, four girls (13,14,14,15 years) and one boy (9) - all were very satisfied and rated the lodge as one of the very best we visist in four continents. Sitting on the veranda, you have a magnificent view of the ocean (if lucky you can spot... more

Punta Marenco is a great place if you want to experience the wilderness at its best. The rustic cabins are basically a cage of mosquito netting, with a thatched roof, providing air circulation. The scarlet macaws and the toucans woke us up every morning, if the other birds had not already done so. Mosquito nets do not work well as... more
