Wow this hotel is is the most incredible location in paradise! The staff were very lovely and accommodating even finding gluten-free pasta for my husband ( they luckily had some that was left behind) . Rooms had a fan and were very clean spacious and nice,it is pretty hot down there though.. Scarlet macaws join you for lunch. The food... more

Everything about Pirate Cove was remarkable. We stayed there a few nights during a longer adventure in Costa Rica. From our arrival to departure we felt at home. All the meals were great, the accommodations were unique, and the staff was wonderful. Every day we went on a different adventure, including a day in the canoes, one snorkeling at Cano... more

Return guest: I had the opportunity to take a trip to Costa Rica a couple of years ago. One of our stops was Pirate Cove in Drake Bay. Had the time of my life! It's off the beaten path being right in the rainforest. We took the small plane into Sierpe and the boat ride down the river. out into... more

This was our second visit to Pirate Cove, and it's still the ideal spot from which to take in the experience and vitality of the natural wonders of Drake Bay, Cano Island and Corcovado. The staff are kind and genuine, ever-ready to point their guests in the right direction. The evenings are serene, the mornings brim with life. The meals... more

I have some sympathy with the reviewer below. It is kinda expensive at Pirate's Cove and it's quite a walk from the main beach . We thought the food was pretty good but it really lacks a nice communal area. Sitting around the dining table felt a little claustrophobic at times. The hotel seems to end up being a staging... more

The beach arrival was fun and there was a pleasant and helpful employee to greet us and help with our baggage. However on approaching the property, the untidy and uncared-for appearance of the surrounding buildings sowed initial doubts. We were very disappointed that, despite the potentially attractive location, there was little or no outlook either from the communal area or... more

This client was only the third guest in our eight years of operation to leave us before the end of his scheduled stay. It was sad that he found Pirate Cove so unsatisfactory, but I must say that the entire staff at Pirate Cove and the other guests who were staying at the same time all expressed relief when he...

We stayed at Pirate Cove for 5 nights. The reason we chose Pirate Cove was that the dive school associated with it : Cano (pronounced can-yo) Divers offered the PADI Advanced Course at a good price, and Pirate Cove had received good reviews. We flew in from San Jose with Sansa Regional on a small 12 seater plane (turbulence was... more

My friend and I went to Costa Rica to celebrate her 40th birthday. Neither of us had ever been there before but chose Pirate Cove in the remote Osa Penisula based on two factors. The first was that it is not a commercial tourist trap and the second was it came highly recommended from a friend. Every superlative phrase could... more

We had a fantastic 5 night stay here over New Year 2009. We booked a package deal for 5 nights and 5 activities including scuba diving, horse riding and trekking in the National Park. If you want to do more than just sit on a beach (although the beach is lovely) then this is a great place. The food is... more

Our family of 5 came for 4 nights to Pirate Cove. The rooms are simple but very clean and reasonably maintained. While there is no A/C in the room, the ceiling ventilators were quite sufficient. The hotel is well placed next to the beach and has a nice view to the ocean. The beach isn't your typical Caribbean style, but... more
