The location is perfect I like the walk to the beach even though it was raining , the Breakfast was good , the beds and pillows in the room we had was very uncomfortable, air conditioning was very noise Over all If I had an okay time. Note: couple of tips bring beach towels, Umbrellas mosquito repellent , bath soap,... More

Good family hotel, resident Toucans in the trees which is awesome, pool was a big hit with the kids and we wandered around the paths looking for birds and found all sorts of cool stuff. Food was average, but there are great options in the village for eating. Beds are firm, which we like. Rooms are comfortable. We liked it.

Rooms are very clean, but the hotel needs to be upgraded or renovated. The food is not good, the breakfast was poor, only the fruits and pancakes were good. The pool is ok, but the towels they gave us were sooo old, even with holes and discolored - for a 3 stars hotels it's a shame ! wifi is available... More

Very nice hotel! Room was comfortable and clean. Took a while messing with AC power button on wall to get it to work but after that, no issues. Feels like a little oasis in the middle of the jungle! Staff was great. Lots of different plants, flowers and trees that are labelled so you know what they are.

We (and particularly the kids!) loved this place. The rooms were probably the best we've seen in Costa Rica (and we've been here a while!) - recently updated, just about hermetically sealed so we didn't spot one bug (not even an ant when we spilt some sugary drink!!), great shower and a fantastic outdoor seating area with Mosquito nets around.... This was a nice resort but not what we had expected. We loved the rooms the open air sitting area was great. The mattress were worn out as were the pillows. The pool and swim up bar were fantastic. It was cleaned everyday. We did have problems with the restuarant. We were there for 3 nights and 2 of the... More

We really enjoyed our time at Villas Rio Mar. The unique room design with the outdoor living space was very comfortable and private with mosquito netting hanging down. There is a mini fridge, small table, and loveseat and chair. Gives you the feeling of having your living room in the outdoors. The pool is big with a swim up bar.... More

I am the teacher on a group tour of 10 high school students. We stayed here for two nights and I thought it was fantastic. Yes, the rooms are a little bit dated but there is more than enough room for 2 people per room. The outside balcony gives plenty more room and has a mini fridge, small table and... More

Despite the friendly staff at the front desk and in the kitchen, and the awesome views, this place isn't all that great. Tour busses always come to this stop, making it noisy. The beds were uncomfortable, and the food had a somewhat unappealing selection. I would recommend this hotel to families with small children, or older folks/couples.

This is an older establishment with lots of character. The staff is friendly and eager to assist. The pool was amazing. The bungalows are comfortable and give more privacy than a hotel. The restaurant was very good.
