I can't even put into words how great the staff at the hotel were!! From the moment you walk on the property you are treated like family. The poeple here have down how to treat guest. Rooms are clean, beds are good and safes in the room. I totally recommend Montnas De Agua. Will stay here every time I come... More

Just happened up on Montanas de Aguas by accident. Met Jesse and Lenae who were operating it and adored them both. The room had private bath w/ hot water which is a luxury when traveling in this style and with a limited budget. We are seniors looking for a great deal and value. We found it here. Daily maid service... More

We were 4 on the road winging it without reservations and ended up at Montanas de Agua. Likely would not have found it without a recommendation from a local, as the location is one block back off the beach road. Due to the location the property offers a quiet, private environment, yet an ocean view is to be had from... More

The rooms are clean, the bathrooms (and showers with hot water) even more. Each room has a ceiling fan or/and air conditioner and comfortable big beds. The kitchen has a fridge, gas stove, microwave oven and all you may need to cook whatever you want. It is a little bit more expensive than other places around, but those other place... More

We had travel through Costa Rica for three weeks prior to arriving at Hotel Montanas de Agua. Initially we had intended to spend a day and ended up spending four – had we not been flying home we might still be there. Playa Dominical is what most laid back travelers dreaming of: beautiful palm lined beaches, great food, amenities, and... More

Very nice and quiet place, about 100 meters from the beach, I love the fact that between the beach and the hotel there is a big lot with very tall trees so all you hear when you wake up are lots of birds singing and you can feel the breeze that comes from the beach. Rooms are clean and smell... More

The rooms are decent, the beds are comfortable, the bathrooms and showers are very nice, there is a ceiling fan plus an air conditioner, there is hot water, the grounds are beautiful, and the hotel is maybe 50 feet away from Cafe en Sueno (which has an awesome breakfast called pancake tropicale). We paid $60 for a double in the... More

This was our third visit to Montanas de Agua. We can just confirm that we love the place since it is very safe, clean, the location is perfect ( you are a short walk to town and the beach ), and the rooms have the basics to survive a 3-4 days stay. The managers are great and they have the ability to... Loved staying here. Had my best sleeps in Costa Rica yet. Super comfy beds, new mattresses, nice spacious rooms, amazing A/C, and great showers. Jessie and his girlfriend were lovely hosts, super friendly, and provided us with information for basically whatever we needed. It would be nice if they posted a bit more info about places to go in town... More

We are so sorry about your sandals! We have actually blacked out the part that says "at night" since your incident. It had never happened in the daytime before. And we are trying to find a home for the sandal eating dog. Hopefully everyones sandals are safe in the future. Thank you so much for the nice review and for... More

Dominical was not the cute beachside town I imagined it would be, I found the town really depressing. Montanas de Agua was a decent choice of lodging, nice rooms for the price, but off the main strip off a dark road. The hammock was nice in the cheaper rooms but when the power cut on and off (as it often... More

We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy Dominical more, slow/rainy season might have had something to do with that. We hope you found the spot that made you want to keep extending your stay, because they are out there. Regarding the safes, our safes are battery powered so fluctuating electricity can't effect them. The electronic key pad... More
