Ma'ukele is situated on the east side of Big Island in a beautiful and unique area. We were greeted on arrival by Raven and shown around the property then to our room...very nice beds and bedding in a huge space with outdoor facilities that are totally awesome. Our stay was during the Wednesday evening market, lively, great entertainment and food... More

This bed and breakfast is a true Hawai'i experience. Raven was incredibly hospitable and made top notch breakfast from locally grown fruits, most of which were grown on her property. Mark is likely one of the most knowledgeable and welcoming people in the area. He has a strong knowledge of Hawaian culture, politics, botany, surfing etc. He was able to... More

In all my years of traveling (60) and miles I have traveled (3x around our beautiful planet) I have yet to meet a hostess with the grace, kindness and thoughtfulness as Raven. We spent a wonderful week with her and her lovely home right on the lava, ocean side. Our morning walks next to the ocean on the lava is... More

We had a wonderful stay with Raven and Mark at Ma'ukele Lodge. The setting is lovely with a great view over the lava to the ocean. Whales were seen several times from the lava rock beach during our stay. The Hawaiian Suite room was very large and comfortable. Raven always made sure we had everything we needed. The private setting... More

I won a Trip to the Hilton Waikaloa Village and wanted to extend my stay (which included 4 nights and RT airfare), So I researched and saw the good reviews on this place, and it's location at the edge of the 91-93 Lava flow. I found out that the Lava covered a pristine white sand beach, but enlarged Raven's property... More

How can I express my thanks to Raven and Mark for the best night of our lives? The outdoor bathroom with outdoor shower was lovely.
