Rooms were clean, restaurant was great - outdoor fireplaces kept you warm when the night got a bit chilly. Neat bonus feature was they had a guy that set up a telescope in the courtyard at nigth so you could star gaze for a minimal (read however much you cared to give)! more

We have stayed at several (dozens) hotels and this was the BEST. The combination of location, facility, ameneties helped to make it one of the top. The service made it the best. We will return! more

We booked Amara’s ‘creekside suite’ (room 226) for one night but liked everything so much that we immediately extended for a 2nd night. Amara (and its sister property L’Auberge) is located down a steep hill in the middle of downtown Sedona, and has a ‘gate keeper’ to control access so it is very private. They have a free shuttle cart... more

We enjoyed our stay at Amara. We had a creekside room at the end of the building overlooking the creek. I think this was an upgrade since we paid for the cheapest type of room, but we asked to look at different rooms when we arrived, and the staff let us pick one. The room was quiet, spacious and comfortable.... more

My husband and I needed to get out of the city, and went to Sedona for a night of relaxtion. We orginally booked the Sedona Rouge, which looks beautiful online with great reviews. We go there and it is this beautiful resort dropped next to a Safeway and parking lot. If you are looking for more of a Sedona "in... more

The hotel staff is extremely friendly, the place is clean and appealing and the location can't be beaten. It truly was a good choice (I had not been to Sedona prior to this visit and picked the hotel by reading online reviews). I will definitely be going back to the area and will definitely try to stay at Amara again.... more

We had read some bad reviews in the past few months so were somewhat reluctant to book at the Amara. However because of the good name it has normally had we went ahead with the booking. We were more than satisfied. The room, service and restaurant were excellent. I was told that the Amara had recently changed the management and... more

I'm mystified by some of the poor reviews I've read on Amara. We found the staff gracious, the room--which was one of the less expensive ones--lovely, the food delicious, and the grounds beautiful and relaxing. Each room has at least a little patio of its own. The pool is, as some have said, a little small, but it's enough for... more
