I stayed at the Clarion for a business trip in May. Oldtown Scottsdale has a mix of different kinds of hotels, and I have stayed at several different types. This hotel was the best value so far. It seems that the rooms were probably renovated recently, and it shows. The rooms have large flat screen TVs, big comfy beds, and... more

Stayed at this hotel over one night when we stopped over in phoenix on our way to San Diego. Paid £30 for the room and this was very good value. Staff were polite and the room was clean and comfortable. Hotel has a pool and lots of people were using this. Only complaint was that the air conditioning unit was... more

was extremely surprised. bed extremely comfortable with plush duvet covers. very, very quiet, and we were on the parking lot side. air conditioner worked great. rooms strange though. ours had refrig and micro. our friend's did not. our friend also had a different air conditioner system, but everything worked fine. not a lot of tv channels. nickelodeon, no disney. average... more

My wife and I stayed at this hotel as a stopover between our time in downtown Phoenix and a getaway to Sedona since we were attending the Barrett Jackson auto auction in Scottsdale before heading north. Check in was easy but the front desk was indifferent and clearly on "auto-pilot". While the photos on the website don't necessarily lie, they... more

Very good location for a good price. Rooms nothing too special but did have nice tv's and comfortable beds. Air conditioning worked well wich is very important. The pool was nothing amazing but again, everything was clean and well maintained. The staff were very helpful as well. more

Checked in late after flying standby and sitting at the airport for 10 hours. It was Christmas eve and my husband had not made the flight so I was alone. ( he flew in the next day)The reviews said this hotel had been remodeled. The price was reasonable, so I was looking forward to staying there. The hotel was not what... more

This hotel does not allow early check out for business travelers. Charged me for 3 additional nights when my business ended early. The management is terrible and hard to deal with. more

Management response from
Tom Kreitler, General Manager

We understand and sincerely sympathize with this guest’s frustration. He booked his reservation through a third party company and obtained a deeply discounted rate. The terms of all reservations through this company are that bookings are fully prepaid and no cancellations or refunds for early departures. We have contacted the third party company and are working on the guest’s behalf...

When we planned a girls weekend up in Scottsdale, I decided to make our reservations at Hotel Scottsdale. I was a little skeptical at first because it was so cheaply priced but I heard from a friend the the hotel had gone through some huge renovations so I decided to check it out. Everything from the website looks just like... more

We booked this for the first night of our honeymoon (we were flying out to Maui the next morning). We were given a free upgrade for the occasion, to an executive king room. We arrived and the girl at the desk was distant and rude (my husband and I both work hotel front desk). One of the reasons we had... more

While this hotel has dressed up the pool area quite nicely with some curtains and chaise lounges, it doesn't change the fact that it's still a dumpy motel. The same applies to the rooms with nice linens and TVs, but crappy formica furniture. Check in took, for no apparent reason, nine billion years (they probably have a very old property... more
