It's been several years since my husband and I first stayed at Smoketree, but we have found no place in Scottsdale that offers anything close to the value offered there. Before I speak to the many fine qualities of the place, let me caution you that your first impression won't be the best the first time you pull in. This... More

Staying at the Smoketree is like stepping back in time. Everybody there, guests and staff both, are courteous and unhurried and small-town friendly. The rooms are a bit dated, but large and quiet. (There's something to be said for concrete block construction as far as insulating noise and weather is concerned!) The grounds are lovely, the small pool the perfect... More

We only were able to stay one night but look forward to going back soon so we can enjoy the pool! The grounds include beautiful and mature fruit trees. We were upgraded to a Casita which I am glad we did because I think the regular rooms might be too small but did not see them. The Casita has great... More

I took this trip in April 2011 but this was not an option on the drop down menu. I found this hotel on Tripadvisor and at first I thought for the price it would be too good to be true. After reading the reviews and looking through both the resort's photos and travelers' photos I decided to book a 2... More

What a fantastic place! This unique resort is beautiful, a desert setting with plush palm and pine trees littering the grounds. It's walking distance to so many lovely shops and restaurants, but with all the green surrounding the hotel you feel like its your own private resort. The staff was friendly and helpful, they even have someone on standby all... More

The pictures look great, the actual place not so much. The inside is very much in need of fresh paint, the walls and doors are scarred, scratched and dirty. The towels are of very poor quality, like drying yourself with sandpaper, but the bed linens are very nice quality. There is no kitchen! There's a counter with a coffee pot,... More

The SmokeTree Resort is a real find. Not only are the grounds absolutely beautiful and quiet, but you can walk to the best grocery store in the valley and many of the top valley restaurants. When we stay in a resort, one of the biggest hassles is having to drive to good restaurants, shopping etc. especially when you don't know... More

They need to update their website. There is no "staff standing by with drinks poolside, in fact the staff is invisible. There is not a massage/facialist. The " kitchen area " is a coffee pot and mini fridge and microwave.no silverware or dinnerware of any kind. Towels are of poor quality...this place has so much potential - I don't like... More

Staying at the Smoke Tree reminded me of house sitting. It has a front yard, a back yard and is very house-like. It was very quaint and would be great for a family or even a couple. I stayed there on a business trip and it was a little dark and scary as I was alone. I walked back to... More

This was our 3rd visit and we love the convenience of the car next to the door, the simple, but completely adequate set up and the ability to walk to AJ's or Trader Joe's. I would encourage them to fix the faucets and fixtures, as the shower handles and sink spout were loose, and wobbly. I like the simple, convenient... More
