I have stayed in this hotel a couple of times but this will be my last. When I got to my room and had started to settle in I noticed the room was not very clean. There were crumbs on the desk. The kitchen counters and coffee table were dirty and the bathroom floor was sticky. I called the front desk and they promised to clean it the next day. But the next day they didn’t touch the room. I called again and they don’t know why it wasn’t cleaned. I have never seen such poor service at a Marriott property. Also the hotel has 3 buildings but the breakfast area and fitness Center are too small. The fitness Center has one treadmill and one elliptical. That is not enough for the amount of guests. The breakfast area has 4 tables for all the guests to eat breakfast. I will find some place else to stay in the future.

This place is under a bit of construction, but it didn't affect us. We didn't really use any amenities. The room was very spacious. It may be a corporate housing destination since you have everything you need inside the place. The bed was comfortable. The place is a bit dated, but it was fine. The covid breakfast isn't too exciting, but everyone has had to adapt. We visited downtown Scottsdale to enjoy the Christmas decorations and dinner. The hotel wasn't that far away and for a much better price than other chicer hotels in the area.

What an incredible price in a nice part of town; walking distance to Mimi’s restaurant or Red Robin, and convenience store. Easy Checkin and checkout, water & snacks available for purchase in lobby , full kitchen in room, desk nice, bathroom & toiletries nice, windows open, soft bedding. Only complaint was the uncomfortable bed.

The pictures for booking are reasonably accurate but they DO NOT tell the whole story by far. This property considers itself a "long term stay" hotel. Maid service is available once every 7 days and must be scheduled. Towels, paper products, etc. can be obtained as frequently as desired by taking towels to front desk and requesting them. Kitchenette is minimally stocked. Even though we booked for two people there was only one chair in the room, so we sat on the sofa and ate at the "TV" table. When we checked in we didn't see the mold in the shower and later when we asked to be moved they said not possible as there were no rooms. Various websites showed availability but still they refused. They told us to move out to another hotel next door OR to a sister hotel some miles away. We asked them to treat the mold and paint over it. Initially they refused and asked us to leave. Things got very heated but eventually they agreed to put primer over the mold. Nothing was comped. Manger extremely rude. See pictures. On the positive side: water hot, gym had only treadmill and elliptical but of good quality. Washer and dryer on each floor and they worked. You had to carry your own trash to first floor but trash room not labeled for first time use is a trial and error of various doors on first floor. This is truly a "caveat emptor" (buyer beware) experience.

My wife mistakenly booked this hotel without telling me. Normally her decisions are very good, but I research more before booking. As soon as I saw many negative reviews, I booked at another Marriott property and asked my wife to cancel (only 30 minutes had gone by since the reservation) at TownePlace by Marriott Scottsdale.
The Marriott agent called right away to cancel and rebook at Scottsdale Desert Oasis Villas. The agent returned to our call saying TownePlace refused our cancellation and was charging a full night’s stay. The agent was very surprised as well and decided to file a Marriott dispute on our behalf (case #246968584).
Just so this review can be confirmed as a legitimate customer review, the following is our reservation information.
Reservation Confirmation #84095104 for TownePlace Suites Scottsdale for Dec 14-16th, 2020. I hope they will learn their pettiness will cost them far more than $150 penalty fee for a 30 minute reservation/cancellation.

Very disappointing experience! We have traveled extensively, and this was one of the most substandard, dirty, and gross hotels I have ever experienced. Complete with torn carpet, worn furniture, black, mold in the bathroom, un vacuumed, and dirty carpeting and walls. We almost didn’t stay, but had prepaid and decided maybe it wasn’t so bad. Well, we were wrong. It was worse than I even anticipated.

I stayed here two nights in early Jan 2021. Upon checking in, and going to the correct building, we noted the security door was broken and the latch did not hook or lock. Called maintenance, and they said they would send someone to fix it. Next two days - still broken and still unable to latch.

Upon checkout I informed them again - not just from a security perspective but also their lack of doing anything to FIX the issue.

Now, be aware. There is very heavy traffic of non-guests through this property. Homeless people drinking in the bushes around the buildings, and alcohol bottles strewn about. It is NOT the most secure part of Scottsdale to begin with.

Clearly the building has been broken into multiple times, and the management does not care.

Please stay somewhere that’s secure, and values their guests’ safety.

The good.....staff here is fantastic---friendly and helpful. Location very good-right off the 101. Rooms decent size, good shower torque, small kitchen is a plus. Several restaurants nearby and a few within a 5 minute walk. The bad....checked in the day before with the Marriott app as suggested by Marriott email. When I arrived my room was not ready. Front desk took my phone number and advised they would call. No call received. Returned a few hours later and room was available. As a Gold member this is extremely disappointing. Room had window that would not close. TV periodically showed "lost signal" in lieu of picture. All my issues are easily remedied. Let's hope they improve
