My sisters, their teenage daughters and I stayed at the resort for 4 nights. We had 2 rooms connected by a parlor with a fold-out couch. The accommodations were quite comfortable, the rooms were decorated in traditional Spanish/SW decor. All the staff we encountered were pleasant, friendly and courteous. Our service was excellent. We ate at the restaurant one evening... More

Only way to get military discount with this company is if you are staying by yourself. You MUST present your military orders to get the discounted rate. If there are 2 of you (your wife, for example), the price goes up to $100. If you are on a leisure trip, you have to pay the full rate - meaning NO... More

Thank you for your comments on your recent stay and for your service to our country. I'm sorry that the rate you paid was not to your liking. As you mentioned, we offer both a per diem rate and a government leisure rate, to accommodate our service men and women, on or off duty and your are right, this time... More

The Esplendor Resort at Rio Rico is located about 13 miles north of the US/MX border near Nogales and about 50 miles south of Tucson along US Interstate I-19. It is peaceful, and maybe even a bit idyllic. It is NOT like staying in a city hotel. I saw Roadrunners zipping all about. I stayed at the Esplendor Resort at... More

Looking for an escape during the holidays, we booked a 5 night stay at Esplendor Resort in Rio Rico, Az. To our good fortune, the resort was uncrowded and we were graciously upgraded to an even larger room. The service was first class! The restaurant service and food were delicous, reasonably priced, friendly and prompt. The front desk personel were... More

We have stayed at the Esplenor resort several times overnighting on trips from San Diego to Sonora - it's about half way and conveneient to the border for an early start, southbound. The hotel is well established and rarelyt anywhere near full occupancy. But the staff are always helpful, the bartender welcoming and the dining room waait staff most friendly.... More

We only stayed here one night. The views were very beautiful and the resort is very pretty outside. The bed and pillows were pretty comfortable. There were bugs in the bathroom, and the crickets in the room were so loud they kept us up all night. The television was really old and fuzzy - they need to update to HD... More

Thank you for your recent visit and for your comments. This is a wonderful and unique area and our resort grouds and views are second to none. We have a nature filled enviroment, teaming with all kinds of wildlife and other desert dwellers and we apologize that some of them were in your vicinity. This is very unusual, as we... More

I attended a GFWC-AZ Convention recently at Esplendor, and enjoyed my 3-day stay very much. Each room has a balcony to relax and enjoy the view. The staff was incredible, considering there were approximately 90 ladies attending this convention. The meals were very good and prepared on time, even with last minute substitutions. The entire weekend was a huge success... More

Other reviews nicely go over the lovely layout and historic features of the inn, which i agree with. We reserved a room for 3 night and maybe we just had bad luck. But our room had a very very noisy heater, a fridge that didn't work, no internet connection, no wash cloths and NO chair to sit in (even though... More
