I organised a birding trip for 7 friends and we stayed with Tom and Alicia for 2 nights in May 2014. Their hospitality was unbeatable - more food than us Brits could eat and lovely, plentiful wine (thanks Tom!) and good rooms. The setting is stunning with plenty of birds in the vicinity, as well as easy access the birding... More

Hi David, et al, Thank you for the kind words. It was exciting to have all of you here, in spite of the language difficulties (one people separated by a common language). The next time you come, I will lend you one of my Stetsons and make sure it is the clean one. Tom and Alicia More

From the moment we were escorted to onto the property we were shown courteous attention and gracious living. Tom and Alicia are the perfect hosts--attentive to details while observing privacy boundaries. The meals were lovely and the company charming. The second night we were introduced to another couple, and our hosts charmed everyone and made certain we were all comfortable.

Jennifer and David, We greatly enjoyed your visit here. By the way, we spoke to the lady in Portal who controls the Elegant Trogons. She promised us that on your next visit, she will ensure that one is available up close. If not here, we know another local where they are readily observable. Tom and Alicia More

I stayed at DD Gamble for two nights during a birding trip to SE Arizona with 7 other birders. Loved the ranch and it provided a memorable addition to the holiday on top of the lodges and hotels we stayed at. Tom and Alicia were very welcoming and the food was great. The rooms are basic but comfortable; WiFi was... More

Tom is a delicious cook. The space is very clean and they went out of their way to make sure we were happy. They made sure we were well informed of the area. It was a fun adventure. We went looking to birds in two canyons. Both were different, loved cave creek with beautiful trees and abundant birds.

We spent two days at DD Gamble and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. We went trail riding on horseback into the foothills with an extremely knowledgeable guide and drove miniature horses around their track. We had wonderful meals and both of the owners, Alicia and Tom Davidson, sat with us sharing experiences and conversation. They made us feel like... More

This is a special place. Tom and Alicia are warm and welcoming hosts. The "ambiente" is wonderful. There are animals and lots of places to walk and appreciate the desert and its critters. Food is great. WiFi is convenient and their knowledge of the area is readily commuicated. Be sure to ask about the special inventions they bring to the... More

Jerry and Margo, we enjoyed your short visit. We look forward to your next visit. Thanks for the information concerning the Pima Pineapple. We have seen them in this area but don't remember exactly where. The next time I am out riding, I will keep my eyes open. Please send your email again. I accidentally deleted it. More

If you want to escape to the ends of the world USA style, this is the place for you. Don't expect king size, white linen, paved roads, street lights, and neighborhood theaters. No need for slippers, 3 piece suits, dressing up for dinner. The 2 mile driveway is rough gravel best suited for suv or horse, don't forget to close... More

We thoroughly enjoyed your visit and are really looking forward to our next get together! It was a great New Year's Eve party and your violin playing was a definite hit. The valley is still talking about it. Without your help in setting it up it wouldn't have been so successful! Don't forget a mini will help cut down on... More

First I would like to say Tom & Alicia(owners) were the best! How can you describe the most incredible place and even better the hospitality that Tom & Alicia showed me and my family. There is no TV in the home which is a shock to some but that soon is turned into great conversations with fellow guests and the... More

My friend and I booked a trip to the ranch because we found a Groupon. Not long after I confirmed the purchase, did I receive a call from Mrs. Davidson, the owner of the ranch.
