I had a very bad experience with this hotel. 1) When I booked the hotel I asked for a room at top floors with a shower and not a tub. Of course, the hotel cannot commit to my initial requirements, but I hoped -remaining one full week- to have at least one of the two points. I was at 9th... More

My fiance and I just spent a night here in conjunction with a theatrical production we attended. We have, separately and together, stayed at many Marriott and non-Marriott properties and this one was particularly preeminent. Customer service at the Renaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel was unsurpassed. The parking valet was helpful and courteous. Our front desk staff person, Taylor, was exceedingly... More

This hotel has always met my needs. Location its more the than perfect so much to do around within walking distance. As a local who enjoys the downtown life its great for weekend getawas. Service its good great during the day time but they do have weird attitude during the night shift.

I stay at this hotel every year for business. The staff is unfailingly helpful and pleasant. The man to make your stay though is Floyd the Lobby Ambassador. Your wish is Floyd's command. I've never left a hotel where I hugged everyone on the way out. Floyd makes it happen. The food is good. The rooms are clean. But you... More

I recently stayed at the Renaissance Phoenix Downtown for a business conference and was very impressed with everything. My room, the meeting areas and the hospitality that went along with it were all top notch and the staff was very helpful when needed. The front desk staff were a little slow but I blame that on the amount of people... More

So this was a business stay. 3 nights. Have to say it was a great experience at the Renaissance right from the checkin. Friendly, helpful, attentive staff. Could not fault. The rooms are nicely done with a great quality feel. Aveda toiletries, always a good sign! Lots of bars and restaurants around the hotel as well. It's really conveniently located.... More

Two night stay for business. Very nice property right in the heart of downtown. Rooms were clean and modern. There is some renovation going on, but I never heard it. Valet parking is about 25.00 per day. The highlight for me was the level of concierge service in their lounge. Top notch! Walking distance to many restaurants in the area.... More

I arrived on the Saturday before the start of the PMI conference. I guess the reviewer above me got my room. Booked a king for the space and ended up downgraded to a double queen. Smallish room with as another reviewer said no bathrobes, no mini bar and the room service for two people is not the best either. Someone... More

Only reason for average score is minor renovations going in the hotel, but other than that adequate accommodations. Right down the street from the convention center and walking distance to everything you need. We walked to several locations when we weren't at the convection center. The professional basketball and baseball stadiums are an easy walk. The hotel is very clean... More

This is the first time I have stayed at a Renaissance property and I was curious about what the difference was with other Marriott properties. The biggest differentiation is service. Since you walk into the lobby, you can feel people looking at you and caring about you. People don't mind walking from behind the counter to help you with your... More
