I've stayed at the JW marriott in phoenix twice, and have a third time planned for business reasons. The property is nice - don't get me wrong, though it doesn't have a 5-star feeling, most likely due to it's immense size. If you are attending for a conference, be prepared to walk, and quite a distance sometimes. If it's the... More

My wife and I escaped a recent Rocky Mountain blizzard by spending a long weekend at the JW Desert Ridge Resort. Upon arrival, the lobby and grounds were a beautiful invitation to a relaxing weekend of luxury. At check in we had a delightful trainee who gave us an efficient and warm reception. Our room had a nice but somewhat... More

My husband and I splurged for this weekend getaway and it was worth it! The service was incredible, the food and drinks sublime. I only regret having to go back to reality and not being able to stay longer. Don't waste too much money on the breakfast buffet. (There is a Mimi's across the street.) Instead, have Prickly Pear Margaritas... More

This resort was chosen as a couple day layover from Hawaii to Maryland. My visit was end of January which was great because this is a resort kids would love. The lazy river and many pools to choose from. The service was great. If you workout you have to wait if your an early riser or come from the east.... More

This is by far one of the most beautiful JW Marriott Properties I have ever visited. The spa itself makes you feel as if you are in an aquarium -- the tile surrouding the building is a gorgeous sea blue - and the food on the menu is simply scrumptious. The hotel itself is dramatcially landscaped but still retains a... More

I stayed there 1/21-1/25 for business, and enjoyed the place immensly. The landscaping is beautiful, the restaurants are superb. My wife and I also went also to the Desert Botanical gardens, and hiked Camelback mtn. both of which are close. A huge shopping center with many restuarants are within 2 miles (less) which means convienance. I would recommend it. More

…The hotel would work with the customers! Let me preface by saying we are Marriott "elite" members. We try to stay at Marriott as our standard hotel when ever possible. We are loyal in that regard and unless we are traveling to a destination location that has a special resort (such as in Australia , we usually chose a Marriott... More

The JW Marriott Desert Ridge was the hotel we were diverted to by the Talking Stick Resort when they had an A/C problem. This was a very nice resort with traditional design with a Southwest-type feel. I found myself fascinated by the décor throughout the resort, especially the lighting and the railing details. The rooms were spacious and the bathroom... More

JW Marriott, Desert Ridge, Phoenix is a 5-Diamond Resort in the true sense of the word. We recently stayed for 4 short nights while attending the Youth Soccer Regional Tournaments at the Reach 11 Sports Complex (about 3 miles from the hotel). The weather was great but so was the golf at both of the resorts Wildfire GC Faldo &... More
