My wife and I stayed just one night but we enjoyed it so much that we could have stayed much longer. It is a family friendly atmosphere. The host is great and makes you feel very comfortable. He goes out of his way to accomodate everybody. WOW. He did recommend the right restaurant we were looking for : a vegan... More

I stayed two nights in a dorm either side of my three day visit to the Grand Canyon. I arrived in Phoenix in the evening from England and made my way straight to the hostel. The staff were really friendly and very welcoming. I checked into the dorm room. There was thee bunk beds making six beds. There was an... More

I would choose the metcalf house over any fancy hotel thanks to its friendly and close staff members. It's a very colorful place to be: If you're hot, don't expect to find a pool but you can cool off at the outside shower, nicely hidden behind potted cacti in the backyard; If you feel like you need to chill out,... Very quaint and cosy hostel, little hot inside in the summer but hey that's Phoenix. Facilities are good, Open kitchen and nice outdoors area including a table tennis table. Only one toilet shower is the major let down, mornings and night become a race for the shower. Great staff, they try and break down the use of phones and laptops... More

My best friend and I stayed in Phoenix for 1 night on our drive across country to California, and this was by far our favorite stop along the way. The staff was incredibly friendly, and this place is just amazing! We had a private room which was clean and spacious, with a shared bathroom. The kitchen is large and clean,... More

The Phoenix youth hostel is an amazing destination. The environment, the company, the space itself is conducive to a fun, creative, cultural experience. The hostel provides an opportunity to connect to people from around the world, as well as to meet many local people in Phoenix because they often host exciting cultural events! it's a great space for group events,... This place is marvellous, clean, quiet, friendly and helpful staff who go out of their way to assist travellers...a cooked breakfast, group activities several days of the week.As an example the night I stayed there there was a delicious shared meal and two people who sang in Spanish.Al [staff] plays a mean piano and the man from Columbia played a multitude of instruments well.... This is probably one of the better hostels we've stayed in. The rooms are clean and tidy and the beds are comfortable. The manager and staff are very helpful and knowledgeable pointing us in the right direction for our sight seeing :) There are social areas in the front and back of the house as well as inside and a... I love this hostel for being so people-centered and welcoming! The in- and outdoor spaces are beautiful and i felt right at home as i entered. There was a real nice dinner one evening with all the guests and we headed out to a near-by cool spot for a drink and more laughs and talks and some dancing. The hostel is... More

The Phoenix hostel is the most welcoming hostel I have experienced. The accommodations and amenities are always clean and comfortable. There is always a great vibe with the diverse guests. It is a very friendly and sunny place to be. What really makes this hostel unique though is the intentional cultural arts programming and the community building you can experience... More
