To preface, I love old hotels. I have stayed in them all over the world. I’m especially fond of stately, multi-story behemoths built when travel moved at a different pace – and rarely by car. Like the Langham in Pasadena, for example. The architecture is interesting, the location is convenient, and the setting is warm and inviting. But not here.... More

I've stayed here twice. The Hotel San Carlos is an historic downtown landmark. The renaissance styled building has been in operation since 1928. The premises are clean & the service is good. Unfortunately the great old bar behind the lobby is closed.

Terrible hotel. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. There was hair in the bed, I pulled the covers back and there was long curly black hair. You have no control over the air it is set for the entire hotel. It is so loud it sounds like there is a party going on all night.

We recently stayed at the HSC as part of a Rocketmiles promotion which earned us 5,000 American Airline miles. This is a historic property that has not been thoroughly updated or upgraded in decades. From the moment we walked in to check in we were greeted by the front desk rep that appeared from the back room still chewing her... More

Decent hotel with beautiful bones. Friendly staff. Do not stay here if you need a wi-fi connection. Sometimes things that are "free" are worth less than that. Absolutely impossible. Hotel could fix this with a couple thousand dollars investment. You have been warned.

You get what you pay for. Family stayed for a couple of nights for MLB spring training. The only good thing here is proximity to all things downtown. Located right next to the train station, we heard noise from the trains all night. as another review mentioned, the walls and doors are thin. we could hear next door and the... More

My sister and I stayed here for a fun weekend. The hotel has the best location for the price. Walking distance to everything. The place was a bit worn. The walls were pretty thin as we heard our neighbors and hallway activity. The bathroom was small but the two of us were fine with the room and service. We weren't... More

Location location location! Visited Phoenix with family in October. was very satisfied with this hotel. It's old like other reviewers are saying but comes with a history. We had a mishap with rooms but manager Angela helped us out. Great stay for the price!

From the time we made a reservation and the entire our stay was nothing but Pleasant Experience! Thank you for preserving the History while implementing all the Modern Amenities to give this generation with historical Experience. We will proudly refer others to experience! Thank you for making us feel Welcome!
