Absolutely worst hotel I have ever stayed at. It was booked by my assistant so I didn't look into before hand. I would not stay here if they gave me a free room. The rooms are small, there is no lobby other than a desk for check in. The bathroom is from the 18th century. This place makes the courtyard... More

Thank you again to Angela and the rest of the staff. I love this hotel for many reasons and the incredibly friendly and helpful staff is a huge part of that. Some of reviews here mention the out dated bathrooms and thin walls. This is true but don't let it stop you from staying here. Bring ear plugs. Deal with... More

If I had booked the hotel privately, I would have not stayed for one night. Unfortunately, it was a business trip, so I had to stay there for one week. I am only giving 2 stars due to the fact that I was able to switch rooms, otherwise it would have been one star. At first, I was in room... More

The idea of staying in Marilyn Monroe's art deco hotel in Phoenix was alluring. The location and service were quite good. The art deco design was a big plus. But the hotel is a bit tired. The bathrooms were quite dated and sometimes not so functional (small and limited place to store things). The walls seemed to be very thin.... More

The hotel is well located and I found it to be clean and the staff very welcoming and helpful. However I found the room to be very outdated, small with a very small bathroom. It was also very noisy with little noise proofing between rooms. I also thought it is very over priced

I booked this hotel as it was the only available in the area. Old doesn't usually mean not updated, so I went ahead and booked it. Take into consideration I have stayed at small hotels in the third world. This room was old fashioned, TV small, signal was poor with bad audio in some channels. The bathroom was not updated.... I was pleased to find the Hotel San Carlos on a recent business trip to Phoenix. I love older hotels and this one has tons of character. My room was across the hall from the Marilyn Monroe Suite! The room was very comfortable and cozy. The bathroom was tiny (smaller than the walk-in closet!) but I didn't mind. The staff... More

This hotel is very convenient to the Convention Center but the rooms are very small and the bathrooms even smaller. Had to use toilet seat for my toiletries because there was no room on the vanity. Bed was comfortable but the pillows were terrible.

I have stayed at hotel San Carlos 3 times for the past year and everything about it is great!! Cute cozy rooms and love the rooftop pool. I have stayed here with friends and family, so its pleasant for quality time or late nights. It's a good location for concerts, games, and other downtown Phoenix events. Will definitely continue to... More
