My family and I are at Kohl's Ranch for a week as I write this. We've stayed four nights already and are having such a good time. The staff at the front desk have to be some of the nicest people I've ever met. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. It's hard to believe we are in Arizona, it's so lush.... more

Wow, Where to start. Called in November to make sure we could have a dog room, arrived and they didn't have us down for a dog room.. Desk person found one "luckily" The room was really small in comparison to what we are used to with other time shares. Drawer fell out of dresser, one end of drape was about... more

We had a great week here. The staff, from maintainance to ranch hands to front desk, is excellent. We had a two bedroom, two bath cabin right on the Tonto Creek. A maintainance issue we had early in our stay was handled immediately. The cabin was well supplied. The lobby is interesting, we enjoyed seeing the old-time switchboard. The fitness... more

I paid about $45 for a weekend stay here through the Women's Expo in Phoenix. I figured it was a timeshare speel and I was right. I don't mind listening to those as the stay that you get for the money is usually worth the 90 minute sales meeting. The area is really beautiful but the accomodations are pretty plain... more

The Pluses: truly outstanding location. Minutes from restaurants & services in Payson, but in the middle of the woods. Had 2 meals in the on-site steakhouse; both were excellent and service was terrific throughout. Since it was Nov we did not use the pool. The grounds are great for pets; our 2 dogs had a great time romping by the... more

We stayed in a room with a king bed and no fireplace. (141, I believe) It was me, my wife, and our french bulldog, Ella. It was perfect for her and she loved swimming in the creek. The room was clean and functional with great western style decor that bordered on cheesy but in a neat, Velveeta type of way... more

I don't know what you guys are talking about!..my husband and I just spent 7 days there and loved it! First, the staff was great, always friendly, always jumping to help you in any way. They offer a variety of options to add to your stay - some fee based like horseback riding & tours, other's hosted like the cowboy... more

USELESS CUSTOMER SERVICE, DIRTY, LOUD, BAD FOOD--TERRIBLE ALL AROUND, DO NOT STAY THERE!!! Please read this before spending your money at a dump. We arrived to a filthy cabin, the screens were all hanging off the windows, the windows were truly filthy. There were spider webs in the bathroom and bedrooms. The toilet was awful, I will skip the details......There... more

If you are thinking about staying at Kohls Ranch...dont! Reservations: They have two means of making reservations, the front desk at the hotel and an 800 number. This made things confusing when we wanted to stay an additional night (thinking it would get better). Instead of making a reservation friday evening at the front desk we had to wait anxiously... more

We just came back from Kohl's Ranch in Payson, AZ. It's about 90 minutes from the Phoenix airport, and is a beautiful area. Kohl's Ranch was very nice, but not much to do unless you want to ride a horse on a trail each day. There is absolutely no cell reception so don't plan on making any calls unless you... more
