Before completing my review, I must say that most all the negative reviews here stem from the fact that people are don't know the difference between a mountain cabin and a resort hotel room. Apples and oranges... Anyway, the staff was very helpful when we needed help, the cabin was perfectly rustic warm and cozy, and the environment was perfect..... more

This place is a simply wonderful! I am a teacher and am always on a limited budget. This lodge was the perfect place for me to unwind and catch up on a lot of the after-school work I had. I got all of my work done, did some hiking and made it half way through a new book. It seemed... more

I want to start by saying we booked a stay at this lodge for our honeymoon. I then later read all the negative reviews and got very worried. Once we got there we realized it was perfect. We stay in one of the pioneer cabins. Yes its small and may not be the Hilton but what do you expect, its... more

Read the reviews. We agree with the negative reviews and they brought back bad memories. It was sooooo bad we took pictures and left. Because of my profession, I have stayed in hotels all over the world; mostly 3rd world countries. This was by far the worst.....and I'm really trying to be nice. Management needs to spend less time defending... more

Sheesh I guess it is one of those weeks -it happens right. I know exactly which guest it is that wrote this review and had a feeling this might be coming. First of all, we very nearly asked this guest to leave due to being too disruptive as we were afraid it might start to interfere with other guest's stay....

We stayed in this hotel for a place to stay while attending a wedding in Payson. Looking at the online website for Christopher Creek Lodge we were very excited. However, that excitement turned to dissappointment when we stepped foot in our room. What I noticed right away was several large stains on the comforter for our bed. Also when uncovering... more

Hello. I am of course sorry that this guest did not have a nice time. Attending a wedding can already be stressful enough on it's own. I want to let everyone know that we take criticism very seriously. If there are any bad reviews or comment cards I personally drive down to Christopher Creek and do my own full investigation...

We recently spent the weekend in a cabin at Christopher Creek and loved it. We have a 6 yr old son and he could have played along the creek all day. The staff was very welcoming and helpful with vacation activities both there and surrounding areas, even prior to our arrival. Beautiful site, great fireplace in the room...we will definitely... more

We had such a nice time in this very comfortable cabin on the creek. We were right on the creek and the sounds of the creek were so relaxing. It was a great escape from the hot weather in the Valley. We're looking forward to returning again this Winter. The bed was very comfortable. Great wood burning stove. Another nice... more

First - some background. After 8 months of frequent travel, I'm finally catching up on my review-writing. I'm almost done with a total of 25 reviews of hotels, b&bs & vacation rentals, and 24 of them are gushingly effusive. I appreciate the quirkiness of places that others seem to complain about in reviews, and I tend to give a lot... more

The introduction in this review certainly makes it seem much more convincing, but please read our response. I would like to respond to this review point-by-point: 1) "Grouchy innkeeper"- Not to excuse it, but based on the date I can best come up with and this particular guest I believe they experienced our last Innkeeper who was working his final...

This property is gorgeous but the unfriendly person at the front desk pretty much made us decide never to return there again. My husband commented that the individual would be better suited to working alone in the woods, not running a lodge where contact with people is necessary. Upon check in and then at check out, we were never greeted,... more

Hello. Because I do not have the details or exact date of when this happened I'll do the best I can to respond. First of all, I'd like to apologize for not making you feel welcome. We are of course supposed to do that and in fact I'd argue it should be "part of the attraction". Normally, our front desk...

All I can say is It's been the most beautiful weekend since I moved back to AZ 3 years ago. I will come back every year or perhaps more often but I'm not sharing the best cabin on the creek..... lol. Okay I will, maybe, if you ask. more
