I rented Cabin #3 on Oct. 24, 2015. It was clean and very cozy. I spent the weekend with my sister so we had to use the pull out bed (sofa sleeper) for the night. I slept on the sofa sleeper. Initially, I was worried about the quality of the mattress, (since it's primarily used as a couch) but I... More

While we've stayed here numerous times, and enjoyed ourselves every time, there is now something different, something unappealing about the Grey Hackle to me. None of the changes we were told would be taking place since our last stay had taken place; the charcoal grills are still not adjustable, the mattress was almost a V shape it was so worn... More

Thank you for choosing to the Grey Hackle Lodge and thank you for your candid review. I cannot speak to what changes you were told were going to happen upon your last stay, but can say that we do try to make all improvements as time and availability allows, so when they may take place is never guaranteed. I'm sorry... More

Came here for a yearly outing with some friends. Decently close to some lakes so we picked this location. We typically look for a few things in these trips: seclusion, quiet, location, and facilities. The cabins are nestled very tightly so don't expect seclusion. Every night people stayed out at the fire well past the "quiet" time (10pm) so it... More

My husband and I travel all over the US staying in little towns. This was among if not our best experience to date!! Breathtaking location, cute cabin, and wonderful staff. Our travels won't likely bring us back here, but we would surely stay again if we ever do.

Very nice little place in the woods. I stopped by on a whim (I'd been travelling all day). They had to scramble a bit but were able to accommodate me. I took a walk along the creak nearby and had dinner at an excellent place about 2 minutes walk away. I was tempted to give five stars, but I didn't... More

My Girlfriend and I went up to Payson/Christopher Creek for a quick weekend trip over Memorial Day. We wanted to stay in a small rustic cabin nestled among the pines and creeks in Northern AZ - AND THAT IS EXACTLY what we got with the Grey Hackle Lodge. The cabins were small but very functional and nicely kept. We stayed... More

My wife and I love going to Christopher Creek for a one or two night getaway (and sometimes even for the day) and we've stayed just about everywhere around the vicinity. We have now stayed in the little cabins that Grey Hackle has to offer, twice now, and both times was an amazing experience! Tiny and cozy, but with ALL... More

Checked in over the Valentine weekend. We needed a rest and connection for each other. The rustic cabin offered peace and quiet. Brought the books and food to stay isolated. Hiking available, lakes and good food across he street at Creekside Restaurant. Dog had a great time. Spent time reading and just enjoying the peaceful moments. Can't wait to return.

We love Christopher Creek. It is nice and quiet. The weather was great! We wished for snow but did not get it. :-( We stayed in the 2 bedroom cabin at Grey Hackle. The family loved it. They had a nice selection of movies and games. We had a lot of fun family time. I will always stay at the... More

Decided to head up to the mountains late one afternoon and called Grey Hackle to see if there were any more cabins available. They stated that they had one left but warned that it was a small studio cabin - a warning that they'd repeat a few times over the conversation. I appreciated the honesty but once we arrived we...
