We landed in Payson after a great scenic (but long) day on the Apache Trail. We decided to stay here because it had food, lodging, entertainment & beer all in one location. Got the stay & play package for $99 which was well worth it: after freeplay, discounts & vouchers we got almost $50 back. The rooms are huge, modern... More

The rooms are very clean and large with a separate living area with TV, mini-fridge and sleeper sofa. The beds are very comfortable with nice pillows. Join the players club at the casino and you get a special (Stay and Play) package that will discount the room rate along with receiving a coupon book that gives you food discounts, $15... More

To escape the hundred-plus heat in most of AZ, try the Mazatzal Hotel & Casino in Payson. It's located in the pine country along the base of the Mogollon Rim at an altitude where it still gets warm, but not hot, and is low enough that you don't require supplementary oxygen. Mazatzal (easily remembered as "mad-as-hell" spoken rapidly) serves up... More

Very clean and a nice room, kind of pricy for Payson, but very nice room, separate room with bed, furniture is the norm, but has a nice counter for storage of items, nice and clean bathroom. coffee maker and tea included. and fridge also.

Me and my wife wanted to get away for a couple days. I regret being at this hotel. The staff here is so rude and not a pleasure to be around any of them. I understand that there are rules but I felt like we were a I convience for them. As far as the gaming well lets just say... More

This place is so nice for a weekend getaway. We just wished we had more time to enjoy the pool area. It is indoors and there is a outdoor patio to sit and relax. It closes at 9p.m.!!! That is too early for adults. The casino has a bar and restaurant, but no outside seating or patio areas. I think... More

My husband, our two young boys, and myself stayed here for one night. I looked at all of the hotels in Payson, and really liked the amenities this hotel provided. I liked that the room was a suite, that there were good restaurants inside the hotel, and that my husband could enjoy the evening at the tables. When walking in,... More

As a non-smoker, I wondered how it would be to stay in a casino hotel, where I stayed as part of an event. While there were many smokers in the casino during the evenings, they must have spent a fortune on their air filtration system because there was no trace of smoke or even the scent of cigarettes in my... I stayed for one night and was pleasantly surprised by the room and the staff. The room was very clean and spacious, with a separate living area. Although the casino, itself, was smokey-- the rooms are fresh smelling without any odors at all. I asked the front desk for a couple of extras to be delivered to my room before... More

We were travelling late into the evening after being held up on a freeway for a few hours. We decided to stay in Payson and were pleasantly surprised by the two room suites--which I believe are their standard rooms. Very nice sized rooms and friendly staff at the hotel and casino. Restaurant servers were great, gave good suggestions for food... More
