I have been to Samoa over 50 times since 1991. For business mostly but also on holidays. I have had family and freinds come with me or even go on their own many times. I have not stayed at the Insel since about 1996 or 97. It is now probably one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in... more
I'll keep the good news for last. The bad news is: - I got a "premium" (second floor) room with a not so pleasant smell. I suspect the airconditioning unit was causing it. A few insects in the fridge and on the walls, plus dirty, stained tablecloths and a very old bathroom made me decide to ask for another room.... more
I chose the Hotel Insel Fehmarn after reading somewhere that it was clean and air conditioned. First impression was that it was comparable to a Stateside Motel 6, a Spartan room with just the basics, bed, bath, TV. It also had a small kitchenette with a table and chairs.
