The service was terrible. The bathroom had a foul smell you couldnt not flush the toilet properly. There were cobwebs behind the doors and on the ceiling. The stuffed up our dinner not once but twice. They also stuffed up my booking by over charging. They made the mistake and did not give us a discount. The breakfast and dinner... More

Stayd there for four nights and it was a great place to get away from the busy traffic of Apia. Very close to shops, market, gas station. The live band every nights didnt botherd me. Very friendly staff, and the rooms were very spacious and ideal for big family. Air condition nd hot shower were perfect. So highly recomends to... More

We arrived after midnight and didn't really know what to expect. We didn't mind trying this place out as other family members have recommended it. The wobbly doorhandle wasn't a good sign to start with, then the lighting was just too dim, room size was just too crammed for 2adults and a 7yr old and all our luggage. The aircon... More

Apia was full and there was little accommodation available. This hotel was found and it is a long way out from town so there is little practical sense in staying here if you have business in town. The rooms are plain but clean (sort of) and the bathroom was good but the sheets on the room were dirty (full of... More

We arrived in the afternoon without a booking to have a look. The two staff who were in the (very nice) reception area didnt seem very interested in assiting us or showing us a room. The young man they eventually called to show us a room was very helpful, but initially we only stayed because we were hot & tired.... More

Sadly this was our worst experience of the three hotels we stayed at. We spent three nights. While the room and view was lovely, the service left little to be desired. There was only one cup no milk provided, and the coffee and whitener sachets were all dried out. The room was never serviced during our stay. The staff came... More

My wife and I chanced upon the Moanalisa Hotel (it's in the completely wrong category as a Bed & Breakfast or Inn) having driven in and straight out of the dreary Airport Lodge. The Moanalisa is clean, modern, bright and with a proper hotel foyer and reception. The one thing is doesn't really have, although it tries, is street appeal.... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Moanalisa Hotel is named after daughters of the owners Liz and John Hunt who first built the hotel in 2010. The hotel is located in Vaitele on the main road between Apia and the airport only a few minutes from Apia city. Liz and John manage the hotel along with their children - which makes it very much a family affair. They are ably supported by their other friendly and helpful staff members and boast having one of the best restaurants in town. Their goal is to make every guest feel like a member of the family. Guest rooms are tastefully decorated, extremely clean and well appointed with new LCD TV, bar fridge, telephone, and coffee/tea making facilities in room. There are many local amenities close by including transport to/from the city or airport, car rental, bank and a medical center right outside the front door. The newly built Vaitele Markets are also located right across the road from the hotel. All this combines to truly make Moanalisa Hotel your family and home in the heart of Polynesia. ... more   less
