I had no reservation and told the taxi driver to take me to the first place with a fale on the beach. So happy I made it here. Was given a place on the beach, had dinner with fresh fish cooked, instructed to do any shopping immediately as shops would be closed for Sunday (useful information). It was last stop... More

We travelled around the whole of Savai'i and Upolu and this was the best Fale we came across. The food was traditional Samoa style, heaps of banana pancakes and fresh fruit for breakfast with refreshing lemon grass tea harvested from their own plantation. Dinner varied from Roast pork to Oka (Fresh fish marinated in lemon and coconut). It says a... More

Leano and Jacinta really looked after us. We stayed there for about five nights. When we arrived we were welcomed with fresh fruit and a cold drink – just what we needed after a hot and sticky boat and bus journey! Fabulous, hearty and healthy meals every night and a plentiful breakfast to boot. They helped us book taxis and... More

Stayed at a few fales on recent trip to samoa, including Joelan's on Savai'i and Namua island off Upolu. This was definitely the best one. Particularly pretty location, lots of turtles coming in at high tide to feed just a few metres from the shore. Several fales absolutely bang on the beach. Quiet. No dogs in Manase which is really... Reginas beach fales are lovely, as you would expect from a beach fale - basic sleeping mats, mosquito nets, and a light. Shared bathroom facilities. The beach front fales are right on the ocean. The water is beautiful and warm and there are turtles swimming relatively close to the shore - i accidentally swam with them! Great hospitality, traditional food,... More

I like manase because you have a strip of fale accommodations which means other people around, a choice of options for lunch or an evening drink and I often find in the winter - when I tend to visit the top of the islands get better weather than the bottom side due to the winds coming up from the south.... Fantastically simple, situated right on the beach of the beautiful Manase village. The owners were extremely friendly and generous without being intrusive. The food made at this hotel was the best we experienced throughout our entire trip - topping the restaurant-quality meals that were served at various hotels and resorts. Though there are many rocks in the water - making... More
