This was the 3rd time we stayed at Tanu Baech Fales, and this time we stayed for 10 days as previously a week was not enough. There have been some changes. The beach is now protected by sand bags. But it has been done very well, they are sand coloured and blend in perfectly. There are also new plantings to... More

We only stayed one night as part of an event but I'd go back in a flash. We stayed in an open fale just back from the beach. The fales were comfortable with mosquito nets and woven shutters. The shared breakfast and dinner provided enough variety for most dietary requirements. The family put on a fiafia night for our group... More

So happy that I stayed here. I took a fale at the very end... away from entrance (based on what another reviewer recommended). I woke and had my coffee ... and simply went down the steps... right into the sea. I slept looking out at the ocean.. and woke to the same tranquil scene. The fire dance night at Tanu... More

Just had a beautiful weekend at Tanu Beach Fales. We fell into the water three steps from our fale as soon as we arrived then sat on the water's edge watching the sun set after a hearty meal in the communal dining area. The family made us welcome, entertained us with a great fiafia night and made sure we had... More

Decent food and the fales are lovely, but they're not quite on the beach as the pictures indicate - there is actually hardly any beach at all. Most of the fales are up above sandbags so if you can, request fales on the right looking at the lagoon as they're actually overlooking sand. Beautiful location though. Bathrooms need a tidy.

We came for 5 nights and stayed 12. The warmth of the extended family that run the place. The simple but clean fale's right on the waterfront. The swimming in the clear lagoon at high and low tide. We never knew that we would enjoy a beach holiday that much. We had to tear ourselves away. Thank you Fa'aleava and... More

Yes it's an open fale on the beach and therefore it is a rustic experience. But the beach is so beautiful and the experience so authentic I wouldn't have traded it for a 5 star luxury property. Within 20 minutes of arriving we were invited to share a cup of cocoa Samoa with the owners and passed an hour relaxing... More

M y husband and I have visited Tanu three times and love the relaxing atmosphere, the great beach and the friendly attitude of the owners. We found the proximity of the fales to the beach outweighed the mattresses on the floor and was a delightful introduction to island life. The food was adequate and varied and we enjoyed meeting a... I stayed one night with my partner and we got a warm welcome and a beautiful fale just beside the beach. The dinner was a big plate with typical samoan food and it tasted really good. The beach is stunning and the water was calm and clear. The people at Tanu beach fales are very nice and careing and the... More
