This was our first stay in Samoa and one of the first places we booked. We hired a car and drove around Savai'i before arriving at Tanu Beach Fales late in the afternoon. The staff were incredibly friendly and showed us to our fale, right on the water (Princess Diana, ask for it if you can!) This is certainly very... More

In my opinion Tanu beach fales are on the best beach in Samoa. It is about 1h north from the wharf. We got a taxi but ended up renting a car from next door for a couple of days. In hindsight I would have hired it from the beginning as it gives you lots of freedom to explore and cheaper... More

Traditional fales set in the most beautiful location on Savai'i. Clean, comfortable and peaceful. Lagoon is crystal clear, warm and great for snorkeling and swimming. Yes step out of the fale at 7am straight into the water !!! Ah Fa'a Samoa. Food was hearty and meals were shared on long tables with travellers from all over the world. We loved... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and enjoyed every relaxed moment of it. The Fales were great with full traditional woven sides which allow the refreshing breeze to blow through and you can have them as open as you feel comfortable with at night. The beach is great for swimming ,snorkelling and just relaxing. The meals were good with a... More

We stayed at Tanu's for 7 nights, it was absolutely perfect! Fales and amenities were clean and the family running the place were welcoming, very friendly and always happy to help us. The beach on which the fales are situated is absolutely stunning, with sunsets/sunrises to die for and a nearby reef with great snorkeling!! Food provided was a mix... More

I am circumnavigating the world on a sailboat. The Captain and I decided to take a couple of days 'shore leave' after sailing into Samoa from Bora Bora via Maupiti and Suwarrow. We booked a car in Apai, took it on the Ferry across to Savai'i, and headed northward to the Tanu Beach Fales. I immediately fell in love with... More

My partner and I stayed at Tanu Beach Fales for 2 nights, our only regret is that we didn't stay for longer. The fale's were more than comfortable, service was excellent and the food was delicious! I can't wait to go back and this time I will stay longer :)

This place definitely grew on me. At first glance it seems a bit worn out but after a couple of days that didn't bother me at all. The communal bathrooms are kept clean, the fale we were in was overlooking the beach. The meals were huge and delicious and included traditional Samoan food (palusami and ūlu - breadfruit, pawpaw, fa'i,... More

We had a lovely stay at Tanu Beach Fales. The perfect place to unwind & relax. We were a little concerned about the weather before we arrived due to the 'open' configuration of the fales, but they are extremely sturdy, with great condition tin roofs and walls (made from cocunut tree I think) that can be folded down plus mosquito... Our family of 2 adults and 2 children stayed here for 2 nights. As other reviewers have said, it's definitely not for princesses but it suited us perfectly and we enjoyed our stay here. The beach is lovely though the erosion is a little worrying. There was plenty of food and the communal dining area was lovely. It was really... More
