Pssst! Keep it a secret. This is a delightful place to stay. Accommodations are spacious and comfortable. Well deserving of the complements on this site. Ask Doreen or Carlos for a helpful map to the Hosteria.

This Hosteria is only about a 10 minute drive from town, but you feel like you are away, away, from everything. The rooms are nice and clean, the food is excellent, and Doreen and Carlos are excellent hosts. They are always there to help and make things better. It was definitely a refuge in a far away place. Doreen is... More

Hosteria Cananvalle receives our highest recommendations! 5 stars all around! The owners Doreen and Carlos, as well as their staff were unbelievable hosts. They bent over backwards to make our stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible - not an easy feat when you are a catering to a family with six kids. The grounds of the inn are gorgeous... More

This is one of the more wonderful places that one can hope to stay. It is situated in a valley that is surrounded by mountains, volcanos, and beautiful vistas. Its owners, Doreen and Carlos will do everything and anything they can to make your stay as comfortable and interesting as possible. The area is breathtaking, and the possibilities are endless.... My wife and I stayed here from Dec 25th til Dec 31st, 2013. Doreen and Carlos are wonderful hosts. They helped us with planning our day trips and gave us lots of suggestions. They helped us with transportation to and from Quito, and with local transportation. The food was wonderful and the location is breathtaking. The rooms are clean and... More

Just getting around to the review, but had a wonderful stay in the spring. The property is beautiful, quiet and peaceful, but so full of plant and birdlife. I loved watching the hummingbirds in the morning and the vermillion flycatchers in the afternoon. My room was nice and comfortable, clean and spacious. Meals were delicious with garden fresh vegetables. Best... More

Great place and fantastically nice owners! It's literally 5 minutes from traffic, noise, people, but you feel completely isolated. Breakfast was fine in the morning, great coffee. Comfortable room and a nice, rustic decoration overall. Really beautiful grounds with lots of birds, including hummingbirds. The only problem was the water temperature in the shower, but apparently that is fixable, just... More

We had been traveling throughout Peru and Ecuador for six weeks when we stumbled upon Hosteria Cananvalle. Carlos and Doreen have created a lovely and welcoming place where you can relax and recharge. Bungalows were clean and spacious, breakfasts were fresh and delicious and the hot tub, steam room and sauna were a nice way to end the day. We... More

Doreen, Carlos and their sons made us very welcome at their hosteria. They were wonderfully helpful in arranging our stay and suggesting what we should do. We loved the beautiful grounds and the excellent food, much of which was grown on the property. The Sunday special lunch was especially memorable and included local and other Ecuadorian specialties that were really... More
