We were in Ushuaia prior to boarding our ship for our trip to Antarctica, The hotel is located directly opposite the wharf which was very convenient, and within walking distance of everything this compact city/town has to offer. The hotel is not luxurious and shows signs of wear and tear, but is suitable for an overnight stay. Breakfast included in... More

The design of the hotel is more spectacular than the rooms, but this hotel is comfortable and well located - close to the main street and close to the harbour. My daughter and I stayed here one night prior to an Antarctic cruise and found it to be fine - the rooms are bland but the beds were reasonably comfortable.... More

As you noticed with many of these reviews, we stayed here the night before our trip to Antarctica and the hotel was chosen by the tour company. It is quite attractive from the outside--almost a Swiss-like appearance with the A-frame roof rising toward the sky and the beautiful snow-capped mountains in the background. Even though our whole group was pre-arranged,... More

We arrived in Ushuaia 3 days before our Antarctic cruise began. We spent the first 2 nights at Hotel Alto Andino and the 3rd night at this hotel (Hotel Albatros) because it was included in our Antarctic cruise package. These 2 hotels are polar opposites in location, view, condition, quality of breakfast, etc. This hotel is located right across from... More

Great location, right across from the pier. However, rooms were small. Our window view was on the ground level, our view consisted of the underside of a car and some electrical cabinets. The rooms have no temperature control, all the rooms are kept at the same temperature, which is just about 2 degrees cooler than hell. We had to stuff... More

As with many people we stayed here as part of a trip to Antarctica. Because the Cruise organisers helped out with the allocation of the rooms there were no problems with the check-in process. We were on the first level which meant just a few steps but the concierge insisted on carrying my bag up to the room. The room... More

Like many other clients this hotel was part of an Antarctic expedition hence was part of the package and you stay an extra night (before the expedition) as a matter of convenience. Yes it is ideally located right opposite the wharf entrance. We did not have high expectations based on the mixed reviews we had read. However, it is OK-... More

We were booked to stay here as it was part of our Antarctica cruise package but after reading the reviews beforehand weren't expecting much. Well it seems once again, the reviews on TA were slightly exaggerated. Room was nice - good size, good bathroom. Our room was a little warm - but find it hard to believe that some people... More

Rooms are OK but the breakfast was not. I ate all my breakfasts elsewhere. I suggest you get a room only rate and eat your meals in the restaurants. The front desk service was not great at all- with the staff being unfriendly and clearly distracted.

rooms were very very hot no thermostat. spent every moment with every window wide open trying to cool it down. Everyone we spoke to the same. Carpet on stairs threadbare. no lift access to bottom floor. carried suitcases downstairs. rooms small, bathrooms smaller beds themselves ok, more pillows in cupboard would be good breakfast ok, no option for real coffee...
