We stayed at the Hotel Cap Polonio for 3 days in early December 2005. The hotel wins big points for location, right in the middle of town on San Martin, walking distance to the port. Though rated highly by the guidebook I was using, I found the hotel a disappointment. It is nicely located for walking to virtually anyplace in Ushuaia.
